  • Seems like prices are higher on eBay, I've heard others say you can still get them in record stores (if you can find them) for half the cost of eBay. So, it depends on if you are buying or selling. If you're looking to buy I would check record shops first, is you're selling, eBay.

having bought and sold many times to get what i really want... here's my take on the value of these, low to high end... original pressings of course

    Ten: $18 - $40 (sealed)
    VS.:nm 20-60
Vitalogy:nm one scratch on pry to (with a scraTCH maybe $15 but usually $25 to $50)
No Code:nm one polaroid trading card missing that I gave away as a gift (again, short a picture probably 50 but usually $55 to $100 sealed)
Yield:nm with a bunch of yield stickers (45 to as high as 100 i've seen)
    Live on Two Legs:nm (75 to 100)

again, these are my estimates based on religiously watching listings on ebay over time. hope this helps.

Today, I was given a what would seem sealed copy of VS by a friend. He found it in a really 'old fashion' village record shop (amongst all kinds of weird and wonderful stuff) and bought it for peanuts. Now I'm not sure if it is in its original seal or if has been resealed. Anyway to tell?

That's not the vs blue vinyl from Columbia is it? I thought there was only one edition of vs on blue vinyl and it was from Columbia (according to pjcollectors.com it's the only one). I know you said it was made in the UK but does it say Columbia on the back of the LP case? If so, you have a very rare and expensive piece, my friend.

I'm not bothered. It's just if I offer it up, I don't want to be fibbing saying it's sealed when really it's not.

I believe all the US copies had a clear sticker with red "Pearl Jam" in upper right corner. like such:

if it doesn't have that sticker I'd be a little leary of original seal. not 100% though. (Paul from Uk can you chime in here??)

you mean the one sticker it came with inside when sealed? or you mean you're just throwing in same era stickers? because some of those Yiled era ones are pretty vaulable these days. just saw a few that went for over $20!!

Really though if you have doubts you need to open it to check the vinyl..You dont want it coming back on you if you happen to sell bad vinyl to some one...List it as "new, opened only to inspect vinyl" or something like that.

I seem to remember when buying mine when it came out that it didn't have the Pearl Jam sticker. Though it's the US one, I bought it in the UK. Don't know if that would make a difference. I still think it's resealed - there's a slight vertical overlap on the seal in the middle of the back. Whereas I remember when I was younger, most vinyls did have that overlap, I'm sure that by the time VS came out, the shrink-wrap was sealed along the edges.

I think I'm going to open it and check it out.
