I remember the day I opened mine, one of the coolest moments. The needle touched the wax for the first time and the glorious sound of applause with the opening guitar playing Of the Girl was emitting from my speakers. I never regret opening my Benny Hall vinyl. I play it about once a year with a nice bottle of Pinot and just drown in the sound. :D
He who forgets will be destined to remember.

  • the chances of me ever owning this are slim and none. there seems to have been a large quantity changing hands on eBay (and on here) in the last year or so, and with each hand it passes through, the next person wants to keep it even more than the last. By the time I have the extra pocket money for this, everyone who owns one of these is going to have them under lock and key and will eventually be buried with their copy.

Thanks for the link it does say this

NEVER...NEVER...NEVER... store recordings on their sides or flat! Always maintain records in an absolutely vertical position.

    Doesnt sides mean vertical?
Ive lots of old albums from the 70's and the spines even tho they have been stored in a glass stereo
cabinet they have deteriorated on the spines...
I have got plastic covers for some but not all...
    Ive got spray for cleaning..
My dad when he was alive use to clean his records with methylated spirits not sure
if thats a good thing or not..

The sides (record cover face) should be vertical not flat.
