Pearl Jam and the Philadelphia Spectrum

I drove by the Spectrum today (July 15, 2010) and noticed that the Pearl Jam banner was still decorating the front of the Spectrum. I thought that was pretty damn cool!!!

    I'm surprised that no one has taken it down. That would make one hell of a collectible!

    What a blunder that whole demolition project was. They could have gotten another year of concerts and Phantoms games out of the place.

    i know man it pisses me off.

    your from the philly area so i dont have to tell you but they really dropped the ball. the whole "Philly Live!" mall/entertainment complex looks like it has hit the skids. which is fine with me because i find the whole idea lame.

    i have forever been in the camp that they should just renovate the Spectrum. widen the concourses, more bathrooms/concessions etc etc and make the building a full time concert venue. or even better renoovate the inside and make it the official home for the Philadelphia Athletics Hall of Fame. have it like an interactive museum experience. but noooo we gotta fill the area with department stores, chain restauraunts and other commodities of corporate america.

    If you didn't know better, from the sign you'd think Pearl Jam was playing the Spectrum on 10/27,28,30,31/2010. That would be sweet, wouldn't it?

    This was one of the best venues, saw Pearl Jam there three times in the 90s. It was closed in 2002 and still sits there mocking us. The other indoor venues in Perth suck balls. Man, I saw some great shows at that venue.
