Anyone who leaves a PJ concert (IN DUBLIN AT THE O2) and says they are disappointed because they didn't hear the songs they wanted ISN'T a true fan.. you take what they give you and beg for more.
As for calling me on my bullshit - I don't care that radio stations worldwide gangraped the Ten singles...I still go wild when they come on.. and I'll take them any day at any concert.
Don't post that garbage.
After reading this thread you ABSOLUTELY win the posting garbage category!
By the way I thought the Dublin setlist was really good and I would love to have been at the first show that they played Of The Earth." Things were different then, all is different now "

Get a grip on yourself. Don't claim to be a fan, and then post that garbage saying they disappointed you.
It's funny how your username is lawyer, yet you aren't very logical. Fans of a band can never be disappointed by that band?
Congrats on being fine hearing the same two songs over and over again and never having a complaint. 99% of Pearl Jam's true diehard fans don't fall into either of those two categories.severed hand thirteen2006: Gorge 7/23 2008: Hartford 6/27 Beacon 7/1 2009: Spectrum 10/30-31

eboweddie wrote:am i the only one who was really disappointed with PJ's setlist from Dublin last nite. Felt that too many great songs were not played. it was my 10th Pj show and it was amazing. the crowd were amazing and band on fire. but no rearview, immortality, nothing off no code. Maybe im just nitpicking but i was maybe i was spoiled with berlin last year
too bad go to the next show!! :0)0 -
Everything in perspective.
Not the best show I have been too but every PJ show I have been to has a 'unique wow glad I didn't miss this' moment. For most this would be Arms Aloft and Of the Earth. But I have to say one of the best betterman sing alongs and Alive was electric. My personal fav was Not For Me & Arms Aloft
For me this setlist was actually better than I was expecting as the 1st show of the tour is normally shorter than most with a standard hits feel. Dublin didn;t have that but didn't quite hit the highs of some of the shows I have seen.
Still it just different degrees of incredibleness in my opinion. Now it all comes down to numbers, now I'm glad that I have quit
Folks these days just don't do nothing simple for the love of it0 -
streetcore is such a great record, for my favorite band to play a song by one of my all-time favorites (for the first time ever)....and debut an original....i'm not sure i would remember anything else about the setlist if i was at that show. that's the greatest thing about pearl jam shows...they can play 30 great tunes and blow you away, and still there's going to be somebody that says "i wish they played...." they just have so much, no matter what they give you, you still want more.0

I thought it was a great show, loved the new songLondon Brixton Academy 1993, Wembley Arena (Both Nights) 1996, Wembley Arena 2000, London Astoria 2006, Reading Festival 2006, Verona Italy 2006, London Wembley Arena 2007, Copenhagen Denmark 2007,
London Shepherds Bush Empire 2009, Manchester Evening News Arena 2009, London O2 Arena 2009
Dublin, Belfast, Hyde Park 2010
Manchester Arena 1 and 2, Stockholm, Oslo 2012
Amsterdam 1 and 2, Leeds, Milton Keynes Bowl 2014

It seems to me that lukins.lawyer is upset because of the diarrhea/nutella confusion.
(you eat the nutella)0 -
it is a very basic setlist (except for earth)
but dont be disappointed that you didnt get a rarities/deep cut set
you pays your money and takes your chances-thats why you need to hit more than one show
you never know when that gem is going to be played0 -
I wouldn't call it too basic. Maybe I'm not spoiled by having visited umpteen concerts already, but 2 never before played songs in 1 gig is pretty special if you ask meNijmegen 2007, Rotterdam 2009, Dublin 2010, Nijmegen 2010, Amsterdam 1&2 20120

i agree, with the slighty dissapointing and safe setlist. Of the earth was good to hear, but wots the big deal with joe strummers song? a slight self indulgence on vedders part, in my opinion!
And we heard the usual " we wont leave it so long til next time" *yawn... instead of 6 yrs, and then 4 yrs you mean... The re-union tour maybe? felt like a 'going thru the motions ' warm up gig, to me...0
