My vote goes for the Unplugged version. I love it when Eddie's voice cracks in the middle of the song! The version on Touring Band is great too - especially when the kid rocks out on stage

Honestly I was gonna say unplugged
And even thought it is good I was gonna say not the touring band 2000 version either

not sure if this is the best version on a boot, but as far as live versions, RITF from the Camden show on 7/5/03 was amazing.. the fireworks started over Penn's Landing (outside the venue, just across the river) so they played RITF mid-set along with live fireworks...

Have been listening to tracks like Im The ocean, Throw Your Hatred Down a lot lately. Great stuff. I remember looking around me at that gig and everywhere was just PJ fans with a few older Neil Young fans backing away as the band got on stage.

In 2006, a few guys in Melbourne, Australia organized a charity 'Make Poverty History' concert. Pearl Jam and U2 happened to be in Australia touring at that time and Bono and the Edge joined Pearl Jam on stage for a monster 8 minute long version of Rocking in the Free World. They went under the name of U-Jam. It's spectacular.

If you like U2, then the best has to be Toronto, 9/19/05 when Bono walks out halfway through RITFW and sings along with the band.

If you don't like U2, then you won't like this version.

I also agree, the version from the CNE with Neil Young was great.

I'm not sure what the best version is but I can definitely say that the WORST version is Toronto '05.

agree this one was awesome because it was spontaneous. they weren't planning on doing it and with the fireworks, so cool.
