Highest energy songs at PJ shows = covers?

Does anyone else share my opinion that the songs that get the most energy from the crowds are consistently the Who covers?

Honestly, I don't think PJ gets more energy out of the crowd with Better Man or Alive than it does with Baba O'Riley, The Real Me, and Love Reign O're Me. It can come close, but these three songs consistently get the crowd into a frenzy that PJ originals rarely do. I think these songs just build to incredible highs. Tribute to the Who.

True, but on a consistent basis. They could play Stairway to Heaven and the crowd would go apeshit. But when consistenly played Pearl Jam songs are matched up against the consistently played Who covers, it seems the Who covers generate the most crowd participation. They are more well known songs for sure though (except for The Real Me).

Covers get a fair amount, but there is a lot of energy when the 'major' songs strike up. Given To Fly brings a lot.

In New York this past tour, when Ed was talking about Bono's injury, my pals and I thought they might jump into one of U2's anthems, say Sunday Bloody Sunday. Now that would have caused the crowd to blow up.
