Lots of love for Unemployable! I reckon it's a totally underated song. 8-)
When that album first came out, I just thought it was OK. But when I saw it live in Melbourne 06 for the first time I was sold. :geek:

Great album song that just fizzles live...0

i dont like the lyrics. actually i dont like the style of lyrics Ed sometimes writes (especially on Avocado) where he sounds like he is basically reading out of a newspaper and trying to make it something i would identify with. it has nothing to do with particular politics, just the hamfisted way the lyrics come across.0

the low point of the album was gone and inside job.... wanna talk about awful lyrics... yeesh0

I agree. Great music, terrible lyrics.0 -
Been smashing unemployable on the boots the last couple of days since I read this post :geek:

Unemployable is a kickass song!!

Wicked tune.
I am not sure why people are slamming the lyrics- I think the song is very well written. It's on every 'faster' PJ playlist of mine for working out and running.
I posted this link once before... but you have to check it out. Unemployable from the Seattle show. Ed screws up and forgets to belt out the first vocals... panics and dashes to the mike... I was wondering what happened?

Pretty funny, "D'Oh!""My brain's a good brain!"0 -
Unemployable is a great song. Definately one of the best off Avocado, along with Life Wasted, Severed Hand and Inside Job.
Avocado is actually one of my favourite PJ albums, I am surprised at the non-love it tends to get on the board. Especially with all the love Backspacer got which to me was an inferior Pearl Jam record. Saying that Backspacer-mania seems to be dying down.Mike McCready makes the energizer bunny look tired.0 -

I got avocado on may 2nd or 3rd and listened to it all the way through the first time driving from eastern Vermont to West NY - where I was picking up my brother who just got back from Las Vegas for a year - Hadn't seen him the whole time - we talked for 20 minutes then I started the cd - we didn't talk much again until we had played it back through the second time - then it was my truck cd player for more than a year!! IT IS EXCELLENTMy Pearl Jam Fan Videos

I identified so much with this song because I had just lost my job when the album came out. And to top it off this was just three weeks after my twin daughters were born, talk about stress!0
