This is where I heard it first, last week.

    viewtopic.php?f=4&t=135317

Hitsdailydouble said to look out for it last week. I guess it's late. I'm looking forward to it though.

Anyone else scratching their head as to why this ridiculously up-beat song is going to be applied to the ridiculously down-beat gulf oil spill? Doesn't make sense.

This could end up being a real dumb video... I hope it's not.

There is so much wrong with this post.

    Explain?

Amongst the Waves is a song that's upbeat and happy. The Gulf Oil Spill is sad. They don't go together, atleast I don't think they do.

A video for a beautiful ocean song about how a company ruined a beautiful ocean. (video about it i mean, not song)Its amazingly ironic. Saying it doesn't fit is like saying man, Give peace a chance by Lennon (pretty upbeat song) doesn't fit becuase its about war, which is terribly depressing.

I don't think there's anything wrong with that post. Though there's a good chance that it'll be good, there's also a chance that the video may come off tacky...as if it's a way to cash in on the oil spill. And like inlet13 said, the upbeat tempo of the song may contrast the images in the video if they're oil spill related.

Either way, it has to be better than The Fixer video.

I think it's entirely possible that the video could be used to drive sales of the song, proceeds from which would be donated to the National Wildlife Federation or a similar organization.

    Yep
proceeds from which would be donated to the National Wildlife Federation or a similar organization.

    Nope

It's a good thought. But it's not like Amongst The Waves is gonna raise any money. Who the hell is gonna buy a single from an album that came out months ago?

Plz release this video as I have a feeling it needs to be seen...

People buy one track singles of songs that aren't that good to begin with and were released 9 months ago? Maybe if it's Thriller or Hey Jude they would.

There might not be demand among, say, *us*, but I absolutely can see a compilation of songs used on the telethon being released as a fundraiser for the Gulf. I would not buy it, but I get the impression that lot of people do buy things like that.

    Good cause indeed.

It'll be interesting to see what they do with the video; especially if it's themed around the oil spill.

HOWEVER...In all honesty, I don't really think of oil-covered pelicans and shit brown oil stained beaches when I hear the song.

"Do the Evolution" said it all...Twelve years ago!!!

2010 watch it go to fire.

    See you out there.
