its a fad. wasn't 3d also a fad like 40 years ago too?

my dad wants to get one. i told him he's wasting his money. can't imagine having to put on a pair of those stupid glasses to watch tv.

anyone who thinks this is the next logical step from hd is kidding themselves.

i do remember reading that espn is coming out with an all 3d network at some point this year.

What about porn in 3-D? I can't decide if it would be awesome or too much.

Also a good point. And putting glasses on to watch porn might be a bit strange.

am I the only one that doesn't get this concept? who wants to watch TV in 3-D? I can understand a movie or two, but TV just doesn't make sense...especially sports (unless you're on some kind of drugs at the time. that could be cool).

also, having to wear those stupid 3-D glasses would get old after 2 minutes.

    maybe someone can enlighten me

Yeah, i agree with you. Lots of companies trying to profit off the hype Avatar brought IMO. As long as you have to wear very clumsy looking glasses this idea is never gonna take off.

Dont say that you won't get one until you see it in person. They are amazing!

Panasonic has the best 3D TV's by far.

now what would be cool is if they made it 3d with a headset for a video game so that when you look left, it looks left. but then you would need surround tv.
saw something like that in the latest popular science... its a big orb TV on rollers... you can walk around in it like you're walking through a virtual environment... i think the army is testing it right now... combine that with that harness thing that can duplicate the feeling of rain and wind using low freq sound and a cooler wii remote and you have the ultimate gaming experience

    oh and 3-D TVs suck

The 3-D network for ESPN started this month with the World Cup.

3-D of 40 years ago is nothing even close to today's 3-D though. That's apples and oranges my friend.

we just got a new tv...not even a month ago. we saved & saved, out it off & saved some more. so my wife & i were watching tv the other night when one of those HDTV3D commercials comes on & she says "oooooohhhhh.....maybe we should have waited."

i walked out of the room in disbelief while saying "we aren't taking it back."

i've been wanting a flat screen for a long time....and she has as well. now the 3D fucker comes out.

I had HD for a while and while sports and nature looked cool. I just didn't care. Still don't. I guess SD looks good enough and I'm really just there for the information. To each his own though.
