I really enjoy hearing the tags in YL and was wondering what other songs have been tagged besides the ones I've heard.

    I leave the moment I hear the first note of Yellow Ledbetter is struck by Mike so I wouldn't know. I will take my chances on them playing a song after it. I am so sick of hearing it.

    Hello,

    Ottawa 2005 Mike plays the riff to "Over the Hills and Far Away" - Zeppelin.

    SO GOOD.

    Can't find it on youtube... but if you goto those pjbootleg sites... you might be able to snag the MP3. I recommend if you like Led Zeppelin. It's only like a 20 sec. snippet of the song.. but still a good addition to YL.

    I used to dislike YL, but at the Astoria it felt like such a perfect ending (even though they did play Alive afterwards), that I now see it as a celebration. It's a great finisher, but Star-Spangled Banner kills it. One of the good things about only having seen them in Europe is that there's no danger of that happening.The only tag I like is Little Wing.

    Jones beach night 3 00 has over the hills and far away in it for maybe 20-30 seconds. To me ylb should only be tagged with little wing into star spangle banner. I love when mike rips into sbb, its like he's channeling the ghost of hendrix or something. I love that feedback he does before sbb. Yellow ledbetter is actually a anti war song so adding sbb makes perfext sense.

    That's a fair enough point, I suppose. I just get the feeling that he's slightly missing the point of Hendix's version. I feel he's more copying him than channeling him. Mike's version doesn't have the true deconstruction that made Hendrix's so powerful.

    I like that mike makes it his own and doesn't copy hendrix note for note.

    As a Brit, I really love hearing Star Spangled Banner, and it's a shame they don't seem to play it outside of the US! Excellent way to end MSG2 though. 8-)

    I remember the first time listening to the Ottawa boot and hearing that, I almost flipped out! It was such a tease though, such a short snippet. Still great though.

    gotta say i was kinda hoping for a battle of the red mosquitos. :lol:

    now back to the theard...for a little while i was bummed to hear yl because it meant the show was ending but lately if gives me a chance to catch my breath and reflect on a great night. plus if the lights come on i can look for all the stuff i dropped at some point in the show :D

    sorry don't recall any other YL tags at the moment. but speaking of tags..West Palm Beach I from 1998 the Daughter has such a sick Hyena tag (Rancid..who opened up the show).
    you have to hear the howling from Ed (or a machine?)! shit sounds like a horror movie. and the echo. perfect.

    just re-reading Rolling Stone 2006 cover story and in the sidebar it's mentioned that Cincinnati 2000 Aug 20, 2000 includes YL which has these:

    Aint Talking bout Love
    Stranglehold (Ted Nugent)

    haven't listened to it personally, so can't confirm, but that's what is listed.
