Over the past couple of days, the always-exciteable members of the Pearl Jam message board community have been scrambling to figure out the origin of an accidentally leaked Eddie Vedder-sung track apparently called “Better Days.”

    Ha! We're always-exciteable.

PS - Hello to Author: Whitney Pastorek! Thanks for lurking.

The fact that Ed's did it for that soundtrack doesn't really prove anything as far as how long it's been around.

the article claims that the site was hacked into, which is completely untrue. the site was open and available to all before they password-protected it.

I think it's just a statement of fact. Anything PJ-related easily excites me. This new tune gave me a chubby, so the writer pretty much nailed it.

The writer, Whitney Pastorek, is a huge Pearl Jam fan and she writes about them a lot over the years, for EW's magazine and website. She's sort of the resident PJ fanatic at EW, it seems. So I'm sure most of what she wrote was based on her experience - I bet she does hang out on the boards and may even post to them!

While this track may have been around for awhile, I still find it funny that there were people on this board who beyond a doubt knew and had it confirmed that this song was...
1.) Most definitely from the Riot Act sessions
    or
2.) Most definitely a song from Pearl Jam's upcoming EP

Good sources people! And second, about this whole EP thing, Mike never once said there was gonna be an EP. I think he said something like, they had a lot of songs left over from Backspacer and it would be cool if they could put out an EP, and people turned that into, "Pearl Jam will release an EP in 2010". I hope it happens, but no one from the band ever actually said it was definitely going to.
words seem so out of place.

i'm glad that it is an eddie song. it didn't feel right as a pj one for me.

he seems to save the aiyeee singing for his stuff. it sounded like an into the wild bside if anything

i like it a lot more now knowing it's his song

I am very curious to what instruments he is playing in the song. There are a lot of different styles, I doubt it was like Into The Wild where he played everything. His song writing is still impeccable without a doubt
