How about a all acoustic small theatre tour? I had a chance to see Foo Fighters a few years back and it was awesome show..

Re-work a few high octane tracks to fit the acoustic setting
-Hail Hail
-Severed Hand

Old Standards...
-Thumbing My WAy
-Black
-Of the Girl

New Tracks...
-??
-??

Any thoughts???

I would be all over this. Eddie's solo shows have been fantastic and I would love to see the whole band doing something similar.

The only problem I see with that is the problem many had with Ed's solo shows:

The constant screaming and yelling and blurting out song requests.

I have a couple of audience recordings from Ed's solo shows and it's downright annoying because Ed's trying to sing or talk in between songs and these dicks are just screaming out shit to him. He had to address the problem numerous times during the show. Benaroya is a good example of a full band acoustic show. Small venue, great acoustics, and assholes voices carry much better. While I am not saying it's not a good idea, just be prepared for the few ruining it for the many.

an acoustic show does not necessarily mean "quiet" show. The Foo's rocked it pretty good for an "acoustic" show.

I always wondered what RVM would sound like acoustic, does anyone know where I could get a listen?

With the exception of Mike's bitchin' electric guitar, the Benaroya Hall show was almost exclusively acoustic. Maybe the closest thing that's easily available for listen, and the sound and recording are awesome. I was lucky enough to be in the crowd that night and hearing the crowd sing the last verse of Black back to the band still gives me goosebumps.

    I would love it.

It would also cause a bitchfest on here about ticket prices, since it would be very expensive to see them in smaller venues...not to mention the bitching about people not getting tix because of the venue sizes.
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.

It most certainly would...but if tix went thru 10C and they did it in sort of the way it was done for Newark after MSG I and II sold out, it wouldn't be as bad as if they all just went at once.

Anyway, we, the Faithful, would, as usual, find a way. :)

I've said this a few times around here, but my dream tour involves two shows in every city - one at a larger venue (arena type), and one at a smaller venue (theater type). For example, in NYC, they would play MSG one night, and then the next night in the Theater at MSG. And in Toronto they would play the ACC, and then Massey Hall the next night. Half-acoustic, half-electric, in the proper formats to see each :D
