You can't, but I've talked to sevral people who were at the show and they said no one was sitting, thanks try again next time.

like i said . from where i was standing i saw no one sitting
it's all perspective. and what does it matter . the show was extraordinary

Oh yeah it's my fav of my two shows and I don't think it will ever be passed, I personally don't care about the crowed unless their influencing the band which they werent like he said they were jammin like 100000 people were there, but seeing all these OTHER people like backspacer backer saying that crowed matters alot then I think there is an easy solution, just come to the burgh, any of you cleveland fans that were standing and cheering like crazy awesome fans will make the trip.

smile!!!! thought all the banter about it earlier in the show and then before they played it was great. ed is so awesome "tell security to let the smile sign thru. you might as well come right down to the front of the stage."

That was me. I'm still in shock, I can't believe that happened. I've been taking that sign to shows for about 3 years now. I even took it thru Europe. I'm always very respectful with the sign, I never hold it up during songs they are already playing and I really try not to block anyones view with it. I only held it up when Ed was scanning the audience and truly tried not to be rude with it. Usually when people around my seat see my sign they always say "alright, good tune, love to hear that song". I've had a few nods from Ed at different shows but what he did in Cleveland just blew me away. Still can not believe it. I flew home to California (from Buffalo) with the Harmonica in my hand the whole time :)

**funny note: i went to the show the next night in Buffalo and I didn't have my SMILE sign??!! I was a little like LINUS without his blanket!....lol. I've had that damn sign for sooo long.
I noticed you didn't come back to your seat? Did you get to stay up front for the rest of the songs? I was the guy next to you on your left... congradulations, I'm happy for you.
Yeah, I got to stay down there for the rest of the show. Still in shock. That was total insanity. I kinda remember you guys all telling me to get down there after Ed said that...........

I've loved PJ for 20 years but Cleveland was my first concert. I'm still basking in the afterglow. What a completely immersive experience. I can't get over it and have been PJ-crazed all week. Went home and joined 10C right away. I'm so jealous of all of you who have seen so many concerts over the years and just can't believe a concert could have been better than that. Eddie was just on fire the whole time, belting out tune after tune -- I don't know how he and the rest of the band can do that night after night.

Honestly, I would have paid full ticket price just to hear Leash. I was halfway up the grandstands, but I was even with the front of the stage (I had press seats through a friend). I was on my feet the whole time singing along, with tears streaming down my face for a few songs (the chords they strike are just so deep). A few people were sitting around me but I barely noticed, I was just so lost in the experience. But next time I want to be in the 10C crowd with you guys...

PJPixie, I'm so happy for you, seeing them take your request for Smile and inviting you to go up front was a highlight of the concert for me. It was a nice moment of connection between Eddie and the audience. I didn't realize you got the harmonica too!! Absolutely priceless.

WELCOME!! Sooo happy you're here!! Pearl Jam is a powerful (in a good way) force and I hope you stick around for the ride! I started a new job today after being unemployed for 11 months and I held that harmonica most of the day as they sat me down to read hours worth of material :)

this is just a pittsburgh vs. cleveland argument. you will never change this persons view of cleveland, even if pearl jam played every song in their catalog til 6 am, this person would have something bad to say about cleveland. its not so much anything to do with the show, they are just finding anyway they can to bash cleveland. a rivalry thing brought into a discussion that has nothing to do with rivalry.

Great show. Brought my brother for his first experience. He had a great time, and I'm pretty sure I saw him wipe a tear from his eye while singing Alive... with his fist pumping in the air. It was like we were teenagers again declaring ourselves to the world.

Here's a first picking of my photos. We had Section 111 (Stone's corner, behind stagefront) seats, but found ourselves in the aisle of a much finer section further down the arena. After being ousted, we lived in 108 and the folks accomodated us. THANKS 108!

    REMINDER:

The Fanview threads are for Fanviews about the show by people who attended the show...about the Music mostly, ok?

If you wish to debate another topic, take it outside. That means start a new thread about venues or crowds or security or some other aspect of interest.

And the debate should never turn into an argument...see Posting Guidelines.

    Thank you.

Row II Lottery Winner! Oh man. what a time. Not only won lottery but got center seats! Amazing time, crowd didn't bother me, as everyone up front had a blast. I didnt' look behind much of course all attention blazed forward toward the band. Had a great time. excellent show. I enjoyed every minute and really cherised the row II seats. Althought it was my 13th show, I had been upfront before with other tenclub tickets from friends but to have my own seats was just extra special. Thanks tenclub!

Show number 20+ and this band has never let me down once. It was a great setlist and thanks to whoever requested Smile. It's such a great live song.
Crowd had to wish "Happy Mother's Day" to Eddie's mom and Stone's mom because the boys did not call their moms today. C'mon, guys, man up and make the call.
I thought Army Reserve and Sleight of Hand were personal highlights and I got to hear Leash for the first time. Looking forward to Buffalo on Monday.

I just wish they would have played elderly woman. I know I know. They play it all the time, But the crowd interaction is what I live for! And I see they played in Buffalo and in Bristow. Hope you had a great time though. And by the way I think I was talking to the guy who requested smile outside of crown plaza hotel. great request!
  • The show was great! Can't wait for the bootleg!!!

Who cares if the town sucked...I can't believe how horrible the crowd was during the show. I've NEVER seen such a lame crowd at a PJ show...especially one of the best shows I've seen in a decade. In between the encores...it was dead. Dead. This crap never happens in Pittsburgh. Oh, and how about all the @ssholes heading out during Indifference?!!! Really...I've never seen that before. Cleveland is truly the Mistake-by-the-Lake. I hope the band recognized this as well so they skip you next time and swing by the 'burgh again. Shame on you Cleveland! Shame on you!

Okay, I have to chime in here a little, I have seen PJ enough times to know their MO, they come out and play a set, leave come back for Encore#1, then leave again and come out for Encore#2 and sometimes like MSG1 2008 they will come out a 3rd time. I know this, you know this almost everyone that sees them on a regular basis knows this, I am 40 years old and the simple fact is a Pearl Jam show takes a lot more out of me than most concerts as I am not as young as I used to be.

So after the main set of almost every PJ show I sit down and I clap my hands as hard as I can, A LOT of people sit down at this time, I sit down sometimes during the set if my feet hurt also. Does this make me or the other people that do this "lame" or "bad crowd" to some people I guess so. Again, I could give two shits what the crowd is like at a PJ show or any show for that matter as long as the band plays good.

And the guy who said to listen to the Pitt. 2006 bootleg and no one is sitting???? You can tell if people are sitting or standing by listening to the show??? AMAZING!!!

+1...You took the words right out of my mouth!!!
    PJ FANS ROCK!!!

Finally got that "One for the Thumb"!!! Got the "Six Pack". Now we're on a "Stairway to Seven"

Some words when spoken...can't be taken back.
