Which is stupid-since we don't have an NHL team here in Cleveland, the Pens should be the next best thing, right?? Columbus has the Blue Jackets, but I never really met a die hard Blue Jackets fan...Where she walks no flowers bloom...0 -
holy cow!!!
this show vaulted immediatley into my top 3 alltime pj shows, prob second fave overall of the pj ive seen
wash!!! my first ever, then followed by hail hail and coduroy, oh man i was in heaven already...
i thought immortality was great and army reserve as well
was stoked on the wma tag for daughter
matt was a real star on sleight of hand
johnny guitar is now my fave live backspacer song, as least from what ive seen personally
why go was a great set ender
in the first e, leash porch, nuthin else needs said
i said to my homie before the second e id love to hear any who cover. real me!! real treat when i was expecting reign or baba if i got one
smile!!!! thought all the banter about it earlier in the show and then before they played it was great. ed is so awesome "tell security to let the smile sign thru. you might as well come right down to the front of the stage."
and then indifference to close it all out, epic
thought the acoustics coulda been a little better, but it wasnt a deal breaker.
was pleased with how easily i made it out to piss and grab a beer and back in without missing anything
pleased enoughwith my 10c tix too, 417x and i was middle of sec6...

Can anybody provide a pic of the poster please?
Also, Ed tagged something, only for about two lines worth, at the end of one song. I think it was during the first or second encore. Anybody remember that and know what that was? Curious, as I'm otherwise going to have to wait for the boot.
Also, did it go A-L etc. in Section 1? I got Row L, which alphabetically would be the 12th row. I'm just wondering if it didn't go exactly A through L, if I might have won the 9th and 10th row lottery?

Ed sounded great, great setlist, they played the old stuff just as it sounded on the album. I really enjoyed this one. Great show!"he who forgets-will be destined to remember"0

Beav7 wrote:Great show. #12 for me. I took my mom for Mother's Day and she LOVED it! She got to hear everything she wanted (Black, Johny Guitar, Alive, Just Breathe) and rocked out the whole time. She was worried about being the oldest person there (over 50) but I told her to be proud of it! It's because of her that I started listening to good music like Pearl Jam in the early 90's in my teens. I had my fingers crossed that we'd win the lottery but row 20 section 1 wasn't bad at all.
Thankful I got a poster.. It's probably my favorite yet. It's even more special with the "mother" theme.
Also enjoyed Band of Horses opening. They were at Bonnaroo last year but I wasn't in the mood for them at the time they played. Much better setting to see them at this show.
My Malkin jersey got plenty of looks. Some good, some not so muchHere's hoping PJ plays Pittsburgh once the new arena's up and running. Go Pens!
What a nice Mother's Day present -- you are a very good child! Tell your mom that there were lots of us over 50's there. I thought the same thing (worrying about being the oldest one) when I went to my first concert in 2003, and I was only in my 40's then. I had been a fan ever since seeing Blak on Unplugged, but thought I was too old for concerts. I got my kids tickets for the 2003 concert, and they refused to go unless I went too since I was the one who introduced them to the band. I had a blast, and have been hooked on the concerts ever since. Hope she got hooked too!You can't be neutral on a moving train.0 -

Had 2 people directly in front of me (a man and a woman) who were either drunk or stoned off there asses and sat kinda passed out the ENTIRE show. Crazy. Always distracting with people like that because you don't know whether they are going to puke or what. Boggles my mind that they would have Fan Club seats and come to the show smashed like that and pretty much missed the entire show.
We were in front of the junkies (thats what they looked like!) but luckily not directly in front of them. I felt bad for the 2 women directly in front of them. Security came over a few times to tell them not to lean on the seats in front of them. Once they slumped back into their own seats, they were out cold for the entire show! It was a bit amusing...some people were taking photos of them!
More importantly, damn what a great show...we had a great weekend in Cleveland!
It was sad to see something like that....
I really did enjoy all the other company around me, great folks all of you!
Wonderful show...Ohio shows always rock hard. Cya all in Newark!0 -

Probably about 15K there, but if you were in Cleveland over the weekend, the entire town was dead! The only people I saw in our hotel, at the RR Hall of Fame or anywhere else were ALL there for Pearl Jam (which speaks volumes about the band and us the fans).
You definitely weren't at my hotel -- it was filled with a Sweet Adeline convention. Those are ladies who sing barbershop. And they were singing all over the place!!! Definitely the stuff of nightmares!!!You can't be neutral on a moving train.0 -

We were at the Renaissance too!
We got off the elevator in the lobby and the team in the green outfits was rehearsing in the lobby....we had to squeeze past them....I think it was cool to experience a wholesome Ohio event!
They actually showed the competition on one of the hotel's tv channels!
BOH was staying there as well...we chatted with them for a while...very nice fellas.....they even remembered my Fiance's name when we saw them backstage afterwards.0 -
Great show, but what a dissapointment of a city. I am from Chicago, and did not expect anything near the nightlife of Chicago, but come on. This town was dead Sat. night, and Sunday after the show it was a ghost town..........nothing open. Some places never even opened all weekend. Map Room was a great bar, but the rest of the town sucked. Thank God for such a great show. I agree with the comments that the town would have been completey dead if it hadn't been for the Pearl Jam fans. That was cool.I am lost, I'm no guide, but I'm by your side0

Downtown Cleveland isn't really the center of Cleveland Nightlife....you should do a bit of research before you say that a town sucks!...Perhaps its just your planning skills that suck! We went to Tremont, which had some great bars & restaurants....Coventry is also a cool area.
Many downtown areas are dead on the weekends...not just Cleveland's!Post edited by JOEJOEJOE on0 -

for the record, i've lived in Ohio for my entire life, in various parts of the state, and have never seen this type of "wholesome" event.0 -
Cleveland is a horrible city for anything and everything, that's pretty clear. Sure, some of the suburban areas are OK, but there's not a great area for going out near downtown. That's horrendous. Somebody should really consider selling the city to Canada. With our economy what it is here in Ohio, we could use a few hundred million in Canadian dollars.0

my favorite 3 things in Cleveland:
The Indians
Flannery's (what a GREAT place!)
Warrant Unit (TV show).0 -
I have always been a fan of PJ but have never been to a show before. The show was better than I could've expected. My husband likes them, but not as much as I do and we both walked away wanting more!! These guys are better live than on CD, not many artists out there like that these days! LOVED THEM AND WANT MORE!!!0

As for the crowd, not as bad as some people are saying(cough...cough pittsburgh fans) because judging by my seats and people I met around me I'd say 30-40 percent were from outta town.
so if your gonna sit there and say the crowd sucked just remember you were there also chief. I know I did my part.
Dude listen to the crowed in Pitt boots, no ones sitting down in them, I would bet that every single person in that place that came from the pitt area was standing and singing, it's sick that the band gave that setlist, gave off that much enegry, for 1/3 of the people to sit.
To say the crowd sucked at this show is a over statement, was it as good as the 2006 shows I went to um,no, not even close. but there were a lot of people into it around me, half the time I couldn't even hear Eddie singing because the crowd was singing louder than him.
I think there were several reasons for the crowd being a little mellow(none of which I agree with personally)
Mother's day
Cavs lost earlier in the day, plenty of people were absolutly plowed at the show(never seen so many wasted people at a PJ show).
A lot of out of towners, most of which had seen previous shows Columbus,Indy.
The weather wasn't the greatest.
Hell man, I don't know why...but I say it didn't suck.walk the bridges,.......before you burn them down0
