It seems to be the exact same as DTE. I imagine if fully sustained for a few hours, there could be structural issues... but I'm assuming the venue was designed for not only the body movement of 20,000 people, but also to withstand earthquakes. That is a critical point in NYC that I'm sure they built to withstand almost anything. You have the arena... and right below the arena is The Theatre at MSG. Below that is the lobby level of AMTRAK. Below that is the train level of AMTRAK. Below that is the lobby level of LIRR. Below that is the train level for LIRR. From the 400's section all the way down to the LIRR trains we're talking at least 12 stories.
BTW - for those who didn't experience it in 2003 (which I was not there for the '03 show, but many other times) the venue... the whole internal structure bounces. It's not like other arenas where the scaffolding is affected by every tap of every foot. If you're just standing and observing, even if you are standing on the concrete floor, you will feel everything around you bounce together. It's quite disturbing.
In 2008 the bounce was barely barely there in comparison with what the venue can do, and has done.ADD 5,200 to the post count you see, thank you.

Haha... I'm trying to think of which door that might be. It's been a while since I worked there. I have a funny story about Madonna at the Theatre at suddenly lots of people from the Expo hall upstairs start coming down the escalator just to see her staring back... When I have time, I'll type that one out.ADD 5,200 to the post count you see, thank you.

I was behind the stage at MSG I in 2008, and on the floor for night II. Night two was definitely insane with shaking the building during Corduroy, and that just fed the fire to make us jump even more. Awesome night.

Unfortunately I was shut out for this year.

I KID YOU NOT during one of the last few songs im standing next to the car and notice the ground shaking.KEEP IN MIND IM A GOOD 1/4 mile(1,500-2000 feet) away from the stadium.. i start looking around at the cab drivers and they all looked puzzled ..kinda freaked me out a little.. so then i take a cup of water and place it on the hood of the car .. and im just looking at the water go from one side of the cup (side facing the stadium) to the other as if your on a boat rocking back and forth .... once the song stopped the ground stopped shaking ...
