I was actually going to post a question as to why people like Russel Crowe, then I saw this thread.

The movie looks interesting, but I just can't bring myself to watch this guy or know that a single penny of my money is going into his pocket. The weird thing is, I don't really know why... I just simply do not like him. He makes me cringe.
    Gladiator
    A Beautiful Mind
    Cinderella Man
    American Gangster
    State of Play

are a few reasons you should possibly like him. Not sure if I'll rush to see Robin Hood. Hopefully it won't have any ridiculous lines like the Costner version. "We have to get to Nottingham by nightfall" Yeh sure, 210 miles by foot or horse. Good research guys.

Don't leave LA Confidential off of that list of reasons to like Crowe.

Also Proof is really good with Crowe and Hugo Weaving ( it's an Aussie film), Master and Commander is good and finally the film where Crowe made his name Romper Stomper ( real intense film and probably Crowes best performance).

Yes Romper Stomper is very intense, great performance in that. Watching Master and Commander on AMC right now as a matter of fact....been in a down mood and sick with a cold so some seafaring asskicking sounds about right. I'm hoping to be all better this weekend to see Robin Hood :)

Check out youtube. Russel Crowe walks out of BBC interview.

The interviewer thought Russ sounded Irish in the movie. Russ was aiming for a northern English accent and when the interviewer brings it up he gets upset that his ability to do accents is questioned. He's such an arrogant wanker.

Cate you failed to mention in your earlier review the tidbit of Mr. Crowe wearing leather pants sitting by a roaring fire. HELLO. Why was this not in IMAX?

But yeah, I enjoyed the movie overall, good stuff! :)

Heeehheee I read about him walking out of the interview

Cate don't worry I was going to read a few reviews too .... and I am now decided I won't be seeing it  ... if it happens to be on tv in a couple of years I may watch it but I'm not dragging my self to the cinema for it. Reviews I've read haven't been good (2 or 3 stars) and I'm not a fan of Russell so I'm guessing it's not the film for me ;)
So are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?

master and commander reminds me of a bad 7th grade history class film.

Saw this earlier today. Not too bad, I enjoyed it. Typical Ridley Scott/Russel Crowe movie. Lot of action and good fight scenes. Plot was pretty decent.
