Who cares if the town sucked...I can't believe how horrible the crowd was during the show. I've NEVER seen such a lame crowd at a PJ show...especially one of the best shows I've seen in a decade. In between the encores...it was dead. Dead. This crap never happens in Pittsburgh. Oh, and how about all the @ssholes heading out during Indifference?!!! Really...I've never seen that before. Cleveland is truly the Mistake-by-the-Lake. I hope the band recognized this as well so they skip you next time and swing by the 'burgh again. Shame on you Cleveland! Shame on you!

Yeah, I to was suprised by the early exits. Guess they wanted to beat traffic rather then appreciate what was taking taking place.

wtf with all the hate for cleveland.
the band finds it's way here every tour and puts on a hell of a good show. It always rivals any other good show on the tour.
The crowd has always given that love back.
Agood majority here have said the crowd was full of energy. I was my self even surprised, by the last song I was looking around, the arena was full and all were standing and singing. I was yelling to my friend I was with to look at this sight . I was amazed.
i had a good vantage point to see the entire arena.

This is starting to sound like a c town bashing thread. That is lame i must say. Yeah our city is poor . Sorry it's no Chicago or new york or Boston. Feel free to not come here next time so I might actually get some better ten club seats and not hear all your whining.

At least the guy from Pittsburgh and his girl behind me were cool. I know they had a blast. floor 2 row s and the surrounding area was rocking hard.

funny how this band stands up for exactly what is killing a great city like cleveland and it's population. Yet some of the elitist " fans" of this band see fit to bash .

I was right behind the junkie woman in seat 6 (Row F) I am pretty sure you and I looked at each other and rolled our eyes a few times in regards to those two. :-) After BoH I went out to the lobby to take a leak and get some food. When I was walking around I saw 2 paramedics going down the hallway with a stretcher. I thought to myself "I wonder if it was for one of the two "junkies"? I walked back down to the entrance we used to get to the floor in arena and sure enough the junkie guy was standing and the junkie woman was sitting and crying holding her chest and the medics were talking to her. I figure that would be the end of them for the night but sure enough they came to their seats with the woman holding what I assume was a barf bucket. She was out for the entire Pearl Jam set. At one point she was sitting back in her seat with her head back with her face to the ceiling. Creepy. I wonder what they were on? 2 excellent floor seats gone to waste. I am just glad they didn't vomit.

It sounds exactly the same on the official boot, the one I posted that is...I was at the cleveland show dude the crowed was bad as a whole, pittsburgh gets much more response, think about it, if the situation was fliped and they played pitt and not cleveland do you think there would be as many people saying that they should have came to cleveland instead of pitt as there is saying they should have came to pitt now... no way, not even close.

No arguement there, The cleveland show is my fav concert so far and I don't see it being passed anytime soon, my point was just that if so many people care about the crowed then pitt would be better than cleveland. I wouldn't say we're arm pit cities either.

we are far from destination locations. if i didn't live or have family in cleveland i would only come here to see shows etc. people don't book flights to go to pitt or c-town and get excited to be there ( except if going for some sort of event etc). we are rust belt dinosaurs.

But it's home. And for what ever reason pearl jam swings by every few years and blows the roof off. They never let us down inspite of our short comings as a city. 2010 was the pinnacle of cleveland pearl jam shows.

Cleveland was great throughout...the band was on fire and Eddie's passion was pouring out. I did not get that same feeling in Buffalo (and Buffalo is my hometown show...the show I was most amped for). There seemed to be no "flow" to the show...too much up and down to really get caught up in the moment....in Buffalo that is...Cleveland's flow was perfect!

People get wayy too caught up in "the crowd" in terms of it being a complete sellout....man, Cleveland was so much more fun than the MSG shows in 08'.

There are always a couple shows every tour that are "sleepers"....we got one in Cleveland for sure...I've seen them over 20 times in over 5 countries...Cleveland probably cracks my top 5.

Very first PJ concert for my husband & I. And it was FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Opening with Wash was awesome and hearing Immortality live AND closing with Indifference ---- a dream come true!!! It was a perfect night.

people are quick to cite the setlists and the crowd capacity, but the most important factor is how the bands' output is...and Cleveland's was damn good.

I also should give credit to the people around us who were great to rock out with....section 3 near the back (rows U,V,W) which I think were rows 21, 22, and 23...stone's side on the aisle.

Ed chucked his guitar across stage...I haven't seen that mentioned yet!

A sellout means jack shit really...as long as the people who are there are into it...take Ottawa 05' for example. Far from a sellout, yet one of the greatest live PJ shows to date.

Pearl Jam

Eddie Vedder neglected to call his mom on Mother's Day, so he did the next best thing.

In the middle of Pearl Jam's concert Sunday night at The Q, the singer got 10,000 fans to shout in unison: "Happy Mother's Day, Karen!"

Vedder said he planned to send a recording of the greeting to his mom the next day.

Guitarist Stone Gossard apparently dropped the ball, too, so the audience also gave a shout-out to his mom.

OK, so these guys might not be the most thoughtful sons in the world. As far as rock bands go, though, Pearl Jam would make any mama proud.

A slow-burning "Wash" (a B-side from 1991, the year the group made its debut with "Ten") opened the marathon show here.

Alongside crowd-pleasing hits and diehard-stoking rarities, selections from Pearl Jam's latest album, "Backspacer," came off especially well, particularly "Just Breathe." The sing-along ballad found Vedder sitting on a stool and strumming an acoustic guitar as he sang of love and loss.

Other new tunes rocked hard. "Got Some" and "The Fixer" were almost punk in their economy and energetic focus, a welcome contrast to the epic sprawl of some of the band's grunge-era oldies.

Besides Vedder and Gossard, the core lineup featured Mike McCready on guitar, Jeff Ament on bass and Matt Cameron on drums. The highly combustible chemistry among them was second nature, with additional sparks provided by longtime sideman Boom Gaspar on keyboards.

Vedder, 45, remains one of the most galvanizing frontmen in the business. He fortified his powerful baritone with swigs of red wine, danced precariously on speaker cabinets and punctuated the music with flying leaps.

You never got the impression that he and his bandmates were merely going through the motions, not even when they revisited "Corduroy," "Even Flow," "Daughter" and other calling-card numbers for the umpteenth time. The proceedings could have turned into a flannel-flying nostalgia trip, but Pearl Jam's vigor kept the songs firmly in the moment.

The group also took pride in some of its lesser-known tunes. "Leash," "Immortality" (sealed with an anguished solo by McCready), "In Hiding" and other lost gems sparkled amid a generous set list with something for everyone.

Pearl Jam played nearly 2½ hours, capping the night with two encore sets that included "Black" and "Alive," as well as a surging cover of the Who's "The Real Me."

Vedder even worked in a plug for the Cavs.

"Seems like good energy in the building," he said. "I hope you do well on Tuesday night."

If LeBron James and friends perform with half as much intensity as Pearl Jam did, victory is certain.

That was me. I'm still in shock, I can't believe that happened. I've been taking that sign to shows for about 3 years now. I even took it thru Europe. I'm always very respectful with the sign, I never hold it up during songs they are already playing and I really try not to block anyones view with it. I only held it up when Ed was scanning the audience and truly tried not to be rude with it. Usually when people around my seat see my sign they always say "alright, good tune, love to hear that song". I've had a few nods from Ed at different shows but what he did in Cleveland just blew me away. Still can not believe it. I flew home to California (from Buffalo) with the Harmonica in my hand the whole time

**funny note: i went to the show the next night in Buffalo and I didn't have my SMILE sign??!! I was a little like LINUS without his blanket!....lol. I've had that damn sign for sooo long.

If anyone has any sort of video or shots of ED holding my sign would you please be so kind as to get a hold of me? I was in such shock and it happened so fast.......I'd love to see if anyone captured any of it.
It was really a neat night for me too because my son had saved money from his first real job and that was his mothers day gift to me, he paid for part of my airfare to go out there from Cali. So he couldn't believe it when I told him what happened, on Mothers Day too........what a coincidence!
And of course, I didnt' get a poster from that night so I'm looking for one of those too

IF anyone is willing to part with an extra they may have, i'd be willing to take it off your hands!
