I would love to make it to St. Louis or Indy next week but it's the week before Finals and I can't afford to spend the time driving.
I've skipped classes a couple of times to buy tickets, gotta prioritize0 -

Graduated from Truman State University in 1998. To give you an idea of its size, here's the kind of talent that came when I was there:
Violent Femmes
Goldfinger
The Sugarhill Gang and Melly Mel
Ben Folds (which was kind of awesome)
De la Soul
Wyclef Jean
I live in Lawrence, KS, now. Kansas University is here. We also have one of the better music scenes in the Midwest (between Chicago and Denver). Pearl Jam actually played a festival here called Day on the Hill in 1992. I wasn't there, but I hear it was something very special. There's a clip on youtube (type in Pearl Jam Porch Lawrence '92) where Eddie climbs the rafters during Porch, starts swinging from the mic cable, falls 10 feet from the scaffold onto his back, then finishes the song. Amazing. A buddy of mine was there, but he was so stoned he couldn't remember it.7/27/1992: Lollapalooza, St. Louis; 7/11/1995: Soldier Field, Chicago

I go to the University of Kentucky. We just had Drake perform a few days ago. And some country band came last year.
If you count shows at Rupp Arena since thats where the basketball team plays, but its off campus, we've had Seether, Kings of Leon, Nickleback, Keith Urban, Black Eyed Peas this year. And Pearl Jam came in 2003 at Rupp.
Vanderbilt gets some pretty cool bands on campus. They had the Flaming Lips come this year I believe.06/24/06: Cincy

I graduated from Oklahoma State University (Go Pokes!), but live in Kansas City (very close to Lawrence) now. I just met a guy this year that was in school at KU when PJ played at Day on the Hill there in 1992. The whole band spent the night in his frat house, because there was no money in the budget for hotel rooms. He said that they were the nicest, coolest guys -- more so than other bands that they had booked for that event -- and that they just hung out with all the guys at the house. Such a great story.
Oh, and I must show some love for the Femmes and Ben Folds, who is great, great, great live.Austin 9/16/95, Kansas City 7/3/98, St. Louis 10/11/00, Kansas City 10/12/00, Kansas City 6/12/03, Council Bluffs 6/13/03, MSG 7/8/03, St. Louis 10/5/04, Chicago 5/16/06, Chicago 5/17/06, NJ 6/1/06, NJ 6/1/06, The Gorge 7/22/06, The Gorge 7/23/06, Chicago 8/5/07, Bonnaroo 6/14/08, ACL 10/4/09, Kansas City 5/3/10, MSG 5/20/10, MSG 5/21/10, PJ20 9/3/11, PJ20 9/4/11, Chicago 7/19/13, Dallas 11/15/13, OKC 11/16/13, Tulsa 10/8/14, Lincoln 10/9/14, MSG 5/1/16, MSG 5/2/16, Chicago 8/20/16, Chicago 8/22/16, Seattle 8/8/18, Seattle 8/10/18, St. Louis 9/18/22, OKC 9/20/22, Chicago 9/5/23, Chicago 9/7/230 -
I graduated from an ivy-covered school before most of you youngsters were born. That was pre-PJ (yes, children, there was a time long ago when the world had no PJ). Elvis Costello did come to campus and play at the hockey rink. Elvis is awesome, but the sound when one is seated right behind the plexiglass really sucks.
I've seen the Violent Femmes a few times, and they are great! All those who seek to destroy the liberties of a democratic nation ought to know that war is the surest and shortest means to accomplish it.0 -

Illinois State University
I graduated in 2007. PJ played there long before I went there. Something kinda cool... On the Chili Peppers / Pumpkins / PJ Tour in 92 Flea drew a 5 foot pepper on a wall in the auditorium backstage. Everyone from all three bands signed it. It was cool to see Jeff's cartoons in it.
Concerts I saw while at ISU..

Pumpkins
Ben Folds
Kanye also played, but I did not attend.07-02-98, 10-11-00, 04-22-03, 04-23-03, 06-09-03, 06-10-03, 06-18-03, 06-21-03, 06-22-03, 10-02-04, 10-03-04, 10-05-04, 05-16-06, 05-17-06, 05-22-06, 06-24-06, 06-29-060 -
