hi

ive been listening to alot of boots lately, getting ready for the tour.

then i popped in some discs, albums, that i haven't heard in forever.

a few of my favorite songs jumped out at me that i realize aren't very popular with the set lists, and, when i do hear them i freak out and everyone else goes to the restroom.

Unemployable - one of the best vocal layering ive heard, and the lyrics have meaning, and i just love this song!

marker in the sand - one alot of people pass up because of the beginning, but if you give it a few mins, the chorus is really awesome... i remember ed saying the end of the song felt like church... listen and youll get it.

army reserve - what a bass line! this song has a deep grove and i love the lyrics and the jam parts, love the bass!

wasted reprise - when i hear this it moves me.. much better than life wasted... it has emotion!

cropduster, ghost, GET RIGHT, green disease - all of them are awesome songs, i really like the music in all of them, i heard get right after not hearing it for a while, this song rocks!

1/2 full - i used to not like this song, but my brother who was a big Stevie fan always liked it.. now the ending is one i cant get enough of.. just amazing.

Rival - YES! love the chaotic drum fills to start, love the downbeat... just a good song.

push me pull me - ive fell in love again with this song! try it out on yeild and i bet you will too

habit - this rocks! i used to love the shows when i would get this... just love the ending with the jam..

what are your feelings? should these be folded back into the sets, or am i just too big of a fan? let me know!

I love Unemployable, its in my top 5 favorite Pearl Jam songs of all time. The first time I listened to it when Avacado was released I was blown away. I think it sounds even better live, especially MSG 08 and the Gorge.

I find myself listening to the version of 1/2 full from the MSG 08 bootleg. I love the George Bush lyric addition to the second verse and how Ed adds the "what the fuck!" at the end of it. Such great emotion

Nice to hear the loving for the Avocado album! It's so undeservedly bashed in these parts. Wasted Reprise is so amazing.

I went back and listened to the Albany show from 06 and they played 9 of 13 from Avocado. They started the show with Wasted Reprise. It was cool.

Also got me thinking... where is that dude who is absolutely OBSESSED with Avocado, and hated Backspacer when it first came out? I can't remember what his name was something like Mach and he had a picture of a man wearing a black shirt and he had a black beard, sorry if that was bad description.

Never understood that. I can only hear 5 seconds of his playing at the very end, when he plays like one note, yet the crowd goes into a Booo(m) chant every time after its played. :?

Unemployable is one of the best pj songs this decade. Top 5 easily.

I agree with most of your picks. I hate Army Reserve, but besides that, Gone and sometimes Inside Job, I am pretty into the rest of Avocado. And the 5 you picked on Riot Act are all awesome too. Rival, not too into it. Habit a little noisy. Still, pretty much everything else you mentioned is (to me) better than 70% of Backspacer.

Boom's boom is heard throughout the song. The hammond organ is that boom that surrounds the song. You'd recognize it if it were missing.
