censorship on this board – please explain

Wow……
I just want to say that the censorship on this board has gotten too strict.
I’m not talking about the first hot Eddie thread either. I understand why that was deleted.
I wish somebody would explain it to me, but I don’t understand it. Seems like there’s a double standard.
AND one reason I’m a fan is because I thought the band was cool about sharing things. …for the love of the music. But that was back then and people do change. But I want to know what changed? Can there be some kind of official statement? Was there an official statement I missed? Don’t leave me in the dark!

Examples:
Entertainment Weekly and imdb have pics of Eddie’s solo tour, yet we are not allowed to post pics. Is Eddie suing EW and imdb?

There’s hundreds of concert clips on youtube but self pollution radio videos were removed.

Why, why, why?

i think the biggest problem with this is the fact that eddie and the band are so outspoken about many things yet they give their company free reign to censor alot of stuff here. How is any of this different than the band being censored at Lolla? Granted that was a much different situation but censorship is censorship.

Here is my best guess:

For the EV solo shows, The magazine people probably paid big bucks to Ed to review and snap photos of the show, unless the magazines were given credentials, because they are an entertainment magazine and they report on shows, and it was strictly done for Business purposes.

The 95 era videos that have surfaced were removed because PJ has an open taping policy audio wise, but not video, so it is a violation of copyright laws via youtube. However, people do trade dvd's on here, so I don't really know how strict the policy is.
For the EV solo shows they were supposed to be kept as something special and were specifically written not to be traded. For the boots that did surface, the mods are banning people that are giving links (same thing with album leaks).

I'm sure for PJ shows the recording policy is still be allowed.

Are you posting pictures you took yourself at the solo shows?
Well then yes, you have your answer right there. They were trying to enforce a very strict no camera policy.
And if Entertainment Weekly has photos, they were obviously granted permission to print them. They are not some small time rag.

i think the vid from 95 that was taken away was from the bands private collection.

idk about you guys, but i would not want anyone here to have access to my private home vids. : )

so its more just a "respect the band" kinda deal i think.

when i heard that for the ed solo tour that no one was allowed to video tape anything i just figured it had to do with copyright laws since a lot of the songs played were from the itw soundtrack. i figured that those who made the movie or whatever might feel like they own at least some of the rights to the songs and there might be some legal issues if people taped those songs. im not fluent in legal mumbo jumbo but thats just what i thought happened.

It's a privately owned message board and the owners/moderators can choose to censor whoever they want for whatever reason they want without having to give explanation. If they feel someone has gone beyond the limits of what they allow, they should be able to lock/delete threads and ban users.

Even though we may be curious and want to have every piece of info, video, images ever related to this band - some of this stuff out there is simply un-authorized, stolen material, they have every legal right to reclaim it and take it down. And no, the audience shots and recordings of Eddie's shows are a violation of Ten Club’s restrictions, and there is nothing you can say to change that, even if you really really want to. If you have access to un-authorized material, don't be blunt and try to share it on the band's official message board!
