I'm Still here

Movin much too fast
edited November 2007 in The Porch
Whenever I think I know all there is to know about my favourite band in the world, I get in fron of something that I didn't even it existed. They all blow my mind.
But a few days ago, I ran into this poem from the Ten sessions (I think), I'm still here ( http://youtube.com/watch?v=gct6BB6ijcw ) and that really blew my mind.
I recently broke up with my girlfriend, and I've been writing quite a lot. When I heard this, it was just mind blowing, because he wrote exactly what I was thinking. This poem has helped me out throughout this shitty times I've been in.
I can only thank PJ (Eddie, Stone, Mike, Jeff and Matt and past members) for what they've wrote, which has helped me and I know has helped a lot of people to be able to live another day.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

JR

ps. If anyone could let me know where I can download this poem, or give me a link as a torrent I would greatly appreciate!

  • This spoken word song is not from the Ten Sessions, its more around 2002.
I don't where you can download it but if you use the search you should be able to find a couple of threads about it and someone that was sharing it via email, I can't remember who it was... (though I'm sure most PJ torrent sites would find it)

We are not really allowed to discuss this song on the forum though since its considered unreleased material...

i think its ok to discuss if you want to because there are already several threads on it (which havnt been stopped - its rare for the board to censor the threads that stringently).

like u said the lyrics are incredibly blunt and to the point. its a healthy therapy poem. i love it. and yeah its a Riot Act-era poem like the above poster said.

i can pm you a copy if you're looking for one

it has a bit of an "im open"/spoken word vibe to it, very cool

I also have Ed reading a Kerouac poem if you want that too?

I'm paraphrasing here, for it's early in the morning here and I can't sleep a wink, but I love this part:

    "I'm small, so small
how can my troubles seem so big"

I like it when they do spoken word. I even liked it when Ed did "Hymn". (Was listening to that one the other day.) There should be some more poetry on their next album. Bukowski maybe?

24 years old midlife crisis, nowadays hits you when you're young.
    love that.

Here's my weird interpretation of it.... http://youtube.com/watch?v=wZoIJL3Rp-g&feature=related

Never really explained it there but it all comes from "every single thing I see is a reminder of her" That's why all the pictures of objects, they all mean something to me, and are a reminder of "him"

I should add that to the video, lol
