Rush (Lee and Peart at least) are 10x the musicians that Pearl Jam are. I'm going to see them for the first time in 10+ years and am pretty stoked. Time to rediscover the roots... anyone else? They're doing the entire "Moving Pictures" album to boot... holy shit.

    I'll be there in Boston. It'll be my first Rush show. I had tickets in 08 but then got promoted and couldn't get the time off. :(

    Have a lot of respect for neil peart and geddy lee as artists, have fun man. Doubt I'll ever get to see them in australia :)

    I'd love to see Rush come to the UK. I'm originally Canadian so got to love Rush, I grew up in the neighbourhood they're from.

    ,..Now that being said, Pearl Jam are still better!

    There is no better drummer than Peart and Geddy was way ahead of his time on bass. I saw them in '08 and they sounded better than ever. I will definitely hit one or two stops on their upcoming tour. IMO Moving Pictures is one of the finest albums ever made. Hearing it in its entirety, LIVE, is going to be quite an experience. Enjoy! :D

    Seriously love PJ and as much as they are a great band, RUSH technically are far ahead of our boys. PJ songs hit the heart more for me. I have seen RUSH 13 times and still am amazed at the sound produced from 3 people. If you've never seen them live, do yourself a favor and go. That said...wrong board for this topic.

    Wow... This is interesting. I'm a 40 yr old PJ freak. Ive seen PJ 15 or so times. Rush on the other hand was my first concert back in 1985 or so... their "Signals" Tour. Early Rush is great! I think Alex Lifeson is the most under-rated guitarist out there... just listen to his solo's man.. they are sick. Rush has lost me over the last 10 years. Actually I was lost as soon as the Seattle scene happened in the early 90's. I think McCready and Gossard are tremendous guitarists. They are a great 1-2 punch!

    I was previously loosly familiar with Rush but I've recently started listening to the albums. Tried to apporach it in a chronological manor. Was blown away by their eponymous debut (then I went out of order and listened to Moving pictures once also great), but I didn't care too much for Fly By Night and Caress of Steel after a couple of listens each. However I've then I got to 2112 and OMG!!!!!! How great is that record. Just the title song is fucking immense. The concept, the level of musicianship, and just the fucking songwriting. One of the most amazing muscial experiences I've ever had. Brilliant.

    I'm a huge Rush fan and a huge Pearl Jam fan, but I think you can't really compare the two. It's like sunshine and water. You can love them both even though they are different. I think there's room for both Pearl Jam and Rush at the top.

    My favorite Rush song is Bytor, mainly because of the guitar battle and drum solo. Favorite album is probably A Farewell to Kings. Haven't liked much since Moving Pictures.
