My favourite non-Dylan-30th-Anniversary version is Lollapalooza last year. Eddie joined Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals for a really powerful version.

Benaroya always disappointed me. They are out of time with each other at some points and that really spoils it

  • This is easily THE BEST. Letterman 09.30.04. Enjoy.

Dylan 30th pretty powerful. Hear some restrained rage/hate going on there. This may be another song dylan wrote that belongs to someone else. The looks on Ed's face as he sings Whoa!

Benny hall is incredible, in terms of the solo shows I really like the Boston one, sounds great. Toronto 2 are good also.
  • I love the '92 version too, but I can't believe no one has said DC '06. Spine-tingling, bone-chilling, whatever cliche you want to use. Blows me away every time.

NYC1 this summer was amazing, but I only heard it that night, so it's impossible to compare to anything.
  • Definately the Dylan tribute performance. He shows so much emotion. You can feel it. I think that the fact that Dylan was there watching the performance gave Ed more intensity. I can't imagine singing such powerful words in front of the man who wrote them.

If I knew where it was I would take you there. There's much more than this

    Easily the Dylan 30th anniversary!

Eddie will never top the vocals he put down for that song that night. Benny has great sound, but that doesnt hide the fact that they were out of sync at places. Really annoying.

I think my favourite after the 92 version is one of the versions from bridge 2003. Not sure what night, but it is a great one.

Not a fan of the new arrangement.

Exactly. Lowest point for such an amazing show; when they get off I just cringe a little and try to look past it.
