    Of the Girl is a great opener...
    I just once would like to see Yellow Ledbetter open the show that way you would have no idea when the show was over....of course they'd have to forgo other traditional closers...

    I always thought it would be cool to have the lights go down to the intro to Severed Hand and then bust into, well, umm, Severed Hand.

    Aside from that, Of the Girl would be good to bring back. My top pick for an opener though would be Tremor Christ.

    They used Severed Hand as an opener in 2006. It was great.

    Someone earlier mentioned GTF and it was used as an opener in Japan in 03 I believe.
    I always thought Sad would make a great opener just bc of the riff and drums- i start a lot of my mix CDs with Sad and its sooooooo good. Try it...I dare you...I double dog dare you.

    This makes very much sense and I compliment you on such a great idea, that would be a great way, like you said, with the awesome riff and the pounding drums at the begining to get the crowed pumped, and its just and amazing song.

    Taking a combination of what a couple of people said I think the instrumental idea would be really good. I'd love to see the band onstage with full house lights doing Master/Slave and have the lights fade down just in time for the intro to Once. :) Whoever said Yellow Ledbetter, yeah that would confuse the masses :D
