Its obvious that these people are the ones to blame, they clog up the system unnecessarily, 10c made an effort to curb this with the 10 minute rule and it obviously didn't work as well as they had hoped, but it was the first time this rule was in place, give it some time. blame the idiots doing these things, not the fan club.
Tools? it's obvious these are the people to blame?! haha, you are a funny man and your post is as fitting as your name. that's the most ridiculous thing i've heard on here.
Regardless, This was the FIRST show that I was planning on going to that I saved enough money and was able to plan a trip around. Luckily I didnt buy my plane tix yet... Refreshed the site from 3pm to 6:30 pm, saw the 'buy' button twice and was unsuccessful at getting tix. I love every aspect of the 10C and appreciate 99% of it, but this was just downright frustrating.
Yeah that is rich that is the most ridiculous thing you have heard on here, I have never had any problems getting tickets through 10c and that includes multiple Boston, New York and Seattle shows. In and out in 2 minutes, every time. On 1 browser, 1 computer and only logged into 1 account. Sure they could use better servers but the fact of the matter is that if they have 2000 pairs of tickets and 5000 people are trying to buy, people are going to be shut out. How is that 10c's fault? Should they only allow as many members as they have tickets? Let's just jettison all but the amount of members we have tickets for so Johnny Fucking Pistachio can be happy? There are always people that go on and log in and put tickets in their carts for no reason. How is that 10c's fault? There are always people logged on to their account on multiple browsers and multiple computers creating a bottleneck and unnecessary web traffic. Again, How is that 10c's fault?
The fact of the matter is that they say the same things time and time again, 1computer, 1 account, 1 browser, don't log on if you're not buying tickets, don't put tickets in your cart if you are not going to buy them, but people don't listen and they do it anyways, causing a ridiculous amount of unnecessary work and web traffic for the servers. The reason is says Temp out of Stock is because of that, someone has a pair in their cart for no reason, and then when they release it goes back into the pile, 1 pair at a time, so you and 1000 other people hitting refresh see the buy button for one pair of tickets. Its not rocket science. I shouldn't have to tell someone with as many posts this, I expect your post to come from the people with 2 posts.{if (work != 0) {
work = work + 1;
sleep = sleep - work * 10;}
else if (work >= 0) {

I'm gonna go listen to Not For You now and remember who they wrote it for.......US
that bitching won't even come close
sorry
But there will be bitching. I remember night 1 in Chicago last year all the 400,000 members were in the 300 level. That show had a shit load of fan club at it. I can only imagine the club level on the east coast.0 -
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
Albert Einstein
i have been in the 10c since 2003...gotten tickets through the 10c...and have seen the same issues for every presale....which leads me to the Einstein quote...
obviously they need to spend some $$$ on better servers...."To be the man, you gotta beat the man! WOOOOOOOOO!!"0 -
I'm in the 400's and I won't be complaining.
In fact I'll wave to you all from my seat tethered to the rafters in the ceiling.0 -

Well, it could also be that it's in someone's cart and that person can't advance to checkout. Which I think was mainly the case yesterday.
But I agree with the rest of your post."They said ... timing was everything

there's a ... lot to be said for nowhere."0 -

Yeah thats true that is one of the causes as well, I also stated in my post that they do need to upgrade their servers as well, to avoid this.{if (work != 0) {

To many people using multiple computers = bottle neck
What did the 10C say . . .
• DO NOT LOGIN USING MULTIPLE COMPUTERS!!!!! This creates a bottle neck of web traffic which can result in site failure and loss of ticket order. We can not stress this one enough.
We can not stress this one enough. We can not stress this one enough. We can not stress this one enough.
People who got shut out should be mad at people like "ssdr18".
"two computers up and 3 browsers"
Sad fact . . . . a lot of 10C members logon using multiple computers . . . .
Their are also a lot of 10C members that are scam artists . . . multiple memberships (brother, sister, uncle, etc) . . . having 10C tickets to a show but trying upgrade their location by saying they don't have 10C tickets. There is a group of gals that always find some willing partner to split a pair of 10C tickets in a better location than their own 10C seats. I just have to laugh at these people . . . pathetic.
I know a 10C member in Florida that works in an IT department and uses his staff to run 6 computers with 3 memberships (himself, mom, and brother) to buy tickets to NYC shows.
There is a segment of 10C members that are kind of slimy.0 -
I agree that the computer system could likely be improved and it is no doubt a stressful and frustrating experience trying to get highly demanded tix...however, I remember having to WAIT ON LINE for tickets for concerts all through my teens and twenties. Yep, having to camp out overnight on the sidewalk, or show up at 5am and stand in line for hours, with absolutely no guarantee to get tickets. This was the case for SO many concerts. And, when people who got shut out there after waiting 10-20 hours in a line (outside in oftentimes shitty weather), they still did not complain as much as the folks on here do.... :roll: They went home, licked their wounds, and found a way to get tix or they waited until the band came around again.I hold the pain, release me!0

The multiple log ins doesn't help, but the reality is it's the crazy-high demand that causes the bottlenecks."They said ... timing was everything

They need a virtual waiting room, people would get screwed still but it might be less frustrating, for tickets to the Vancouver Olympics, you go to the site when it goes on sale at 10 and it holds you in a room that has a timer running down from 30 seconds, after the 30 seconds, it refreshes your browser and either takes you to the section of the site where you can search and purchase tickets, or it holds you in the room and the clock resets at 30 seconds again.{if (work != 0) {

I have no problem with people coming here. Come here all you want, hell live here if you can afford it. My beef is the servers once again failed us and a lot hometown fans get shutout. Why can the 10c server crash but TM's can't. They should use the TM servers for the presale. most other bands do for there presale. Also why can't the 10c do a presale for members for people who live within a 100 miles of said venue no matter where pj plays. It give the concert a true hometown feel and not affect the regular sales. Its was so funny to hear a let's go rangers chant at msg2 08. I bet 95% of that crowd weren't even rangers fans or even watch hockey lol. Also its funny how I get shit for speaking my mind on a bands board. A band that always been about free speech. I guess its only free speech if your a sheep to the band or 10c.
Btw- YANKS SUCK and so do the O'S lolPost edited by Gary Carter onRon: I just don't feel like going out tonight

I just wish the simpletons around here would read complaints and understand the underlying ire as most aren't pissed that they didn't get tickets. They are pissed because they spent hours of their life trying to play by the rules and proceed through the process.
A process which seems very flawed and unstable at best which in turns means they WASTED THEIR TIME. Most PJ fans are probably getting older, have kids, jobs, lives, whatever and don't have the time to waste.
That is why people are so angry as many of them will find a way to MSG - it's not the tickets, it's the time and the apparent lack of consideration from the 10C of the value of it.
Finally, could the apologists stop castrating anyone who has something negative to say about 10C - they're big boys and girls, they have access to the boards (assuming they aren't using the same server the sales are on) and should feel compelled to respond to the large contingency who are upset."Hey, listen asshole, one more fucker throws a fuckin' quarter up here and we're outta here, I'm tellin' ya, FUCKER! What the fuck, you're blowin' it for fuckin' everybody. Hit me with a fuckin' quarter again and, fuck it, I'm outta here. We're all outta here. Fuck you, and if anyone sees someone throw fuckin' change right next to them, you have my permission to beat the fuckin' holy shit outta them."0 -

To all of the foreigners talking about coming to America to see Pearl Jam...
WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING???
New Orleans is way freaking cooler than New York. Come to Jazzfest instead. Bourbon Street is a lot more fun than 5th Avenue.
(just ignore the fact that you can get tickets easily because they're sold through TM)And I listen for the voice inside my head... nothing. I'll do this one myself.0 -
They won't come to one of the biggest metro areas in the nation in 7 years so we have to go somewhere else to see them.
I always find it odd that when PJ doesn't play somewhere everyone jumps on us and says "get on a plane" and when we do, no one is happy either.
Sorry metsfan. I would be pissed if they ever played here ever again and I got shut out. But if they maybe played somewhere besides the same 3 or 4 cities over and over and over again, less of us try to go to those shows.
I didn't try for MSG by the way.DAL-7/5/98,10/17/00,6/9/03,11/15/13
