Just an FYI.. The justice dept asked pearl jam to testify on a government inquiry into a ticketmaster monopoly. Pearl Jam did not instigate that. Other bands were asked but Pearl Jam actually stepped to the plate.

Again it was a joke. I know the story

It is 2010. This is a big time Rock and Roll band. No way your technology should fail you this miserably.

2010, watch it go to fire.

I understand the frustration and the need to vent, but it's getting totally out of control. We all need to keep things in perspective. I'm not trying to be preachy, but I totally agree with the op. There is still a public sale, good luck with that!! By the way, I got shut out of both nights of MSG too!! Life goes on, it happened last time too for the 2nd night, but I got ticketmaster tickets for that night and my ticketmaster seats were almost in the exact same location as my tenclub seats!

To all you who keep trying to talk down complaining---it isn't about sell outs or not getting tickets, it is about a system that is so incredibly poorly run that a concert can be "temporarily out of stock" for 3 and a half hours with occasionally opening up tickets. I love PJ and their commitment to reserving quality tickets to loyal fans. It is one of the things that truly make being a fan of the band a "community". That said---today was an absolute shit show. People who are complaining are pointing that out---and they should. Today was a joke. The 10 Club should be humiliated by what happened today. It is 2010. This is a big time Rock and Roll band. No way your technology should fail you this miserably.

did the "system" fail? or did users who didn't understand when tickets were or were not in their carts cause some of the hold ups?

It's not about the tkts , its about the process, I spent 4 hours refreshing today, obviously my choice to keep on refreshing, I just wish the system was capable of taking the traffic and everyone got in bought tkts or got shut out in a matter of minutes as oppose to spending half an afternoon refreshing and cursing the computer out.
Some of my friends got tkts after almost 2 hours of trying, I in turn got nothing, but whether we got or not tkts today most of us are drained from the stressful process to get/ or not get the tkts.

  • I got tickets for both shows I wanted, but that isn't the point. The point is for the Ten Club to set up a system that works properly. How could the NYC show be soooooooo popular that it rendered the website useless for the first 30 minutes of sales, yet the show wasn't sold out for almost 4 hours? I wasted a ton of time today dealing with something that should be simple...you either get tickets or you don't. I refuse to believe that there isn't effective ways of queuing potential customers for internet sales.

Just seems the presales get worse with every tour. More members = higher demand for tickets. In 2006 there were two shows at continental arena in nj...they went on sale at the same time...i got TC tix to both shows. Today 2 MSG shows on sale 3 hrs apart and nothing... shut out. And it shouldn't take 4 hrs to let us loyal fan club members the pre sale is sold out

I would love to know how many browsers or computers some of the people were logged onto while trying to get tickets, that's a major problem!!

  • I agree, I wonder if they could do a better job showing if there was something in the cart. Maybe that would have free'd up the system a bit. I had no way of knowing if i did. Maybe I did. The only way you know is if you left the dam ticket page... even viewing the cart or the checkout would crap out.

Either way, Im at a huge loss at how bad this website was today... Unreal, it really was a complete waste of time. No way in 2010 should that be happening, esp when they staggered shows to prevent this...

You can have the ticket page and your cart opened up in two separate tabs.
If you want to check your cart just go to that tab and hit update. If there's
something in there it will show up. Then all you have to do is click checkout.

Yes, the system failed. I went through two different sales today (Boston and MSG 2) and constant timeouts...then I actually got tickets for MSG with even a screen saying the transaction wasn't completed...just a timed out screen AGAIN. I took 20 minutes to just sign-in today for the Boston show. I got to the computer 10 minutes before the sale and couldn't even sign in.

Like I put in a previous post, we have such much technology for "on demand" this and that...but buying these tickets devolved into Lord of the Flies. It was an utter free for all. All I could hope for was some one with get fucked so that some tickets might fall to me and maybe, JUST MAYBE, I could sneak out a transaction before the Ten Club's shitbag system crashed on me too.
  • What is absolutely ridiculous is that if you get tickets in your cart you should be able to purchase them I had the tickets in my cart but the site would not let me get to step two. Absoultely horrible. As one person stated it is 2010 and there is no way that a site should crash or shut down like it did. If you get tickets in your cart you should be able to purchase them.
  • it would just be nice if their was some acknowledgement fron THE BAND about these problems, and maybe even make some attempt to fix it. then there wouldnt be so many complaints and things wouldnt get so hot around here. When people feel like they arent being heard, they complain LOUDER.

All I know is, I bet trying to get tickets for Hartford is going to be a nightmare after today. People who missed out for MSG and Boston are going to be trying to get tickets for the Hartfrod show. I have that feeling right now.
    Shows: 6.27.08 Hartford, CT/5.15.10 Hartford, CT/6.18.2011 Hartford, CT (EV Solo)/10.19.13 Brooklyn/10.25.13 Hartford

I know, me too! I would much rather be sold out in 2 minutes and get my time back, I guess I'm just referring to the extreme negativity of some of the threads.

Maybe 10C could learn something from the ticket system of The Gathering (big computer party in norway that is always in high demand). They have two seperate processes. The first you do is click one time to enter a cue with a registered account, just one click that doesn't put a lot of strain on the servers and all get a place in the line. It's first come first serve.
When you are in the cue, say nr. 800, you just have to wait until the ones in front of you have ordered their tickets. Then, when it's your turn, you get a notification via e-mail and you have a 24 hour window to purchase them. Of course there's a nervy few days where you are hoping that there will still be tickets available when it's your turn, but at least you don't have to refresh a page every second for several hours and almost get a heart attack from all the time outs.

isn't being logged in twice on two seperate tabs the same thing??

Agreed!!! Every other thread this week is bitching about ticket presales! Nowhere does the 10C state it is your RIGHT to buy tickets early. Besides, I have tried for every presale over the last 2 days and not had any problem scoring them within the first 10-15 minutes (even Boston and MSG I & II). And yes I let them go back into the pool, I just like to keep my 'skills' ready for when the boys are coming by me and I will be fighting with the wolves for real.

Now can everyone just shut up and accept the fact that they have to get tickets during the PUBLIC or from someone on the boards at a later date?! So tired of all these stupid threads of everyone pretending they are tech gurus and offer suggestions to fix the system
