Yeah, I get that. But the way I see it, if they were to upgrade to Ticketmaster speed servers, then our annual dues would more than quadruple. I just don't see it being worth that for them or us. I mean really, they are but just a fan club, not a corporate outsourced one, but a real band-owned fan club. They are not in the ticket selling business, with the exception of their own tours (compared to TM who sells tickets for just about EVERY sporting and music events nationwide), and only a very small percentage of the tickets for those tours.

My point is, we only pay $20 a year, and all the tickets they had available were sold to fan club members. Pearl Jam and The Ten Club have always been an inside operation, and I for one appreciate that.
it boils down to the fact that although the system is fundamentally fair in that everyone has a theoretically equal chance to get tickets, it doesn't work that way in reality. So many people got tickets an hour, two hours, and three hours after the initial sale went live because the software or the servers or whatever technology the ten club has is shit. i was online at 5 minutes before 3:00 to get my tickets. i refreshed the second the clock changed from 2:59 and my computer screen didn't come back until they were temporarily out of stock.

i clicked refresh for my whole entire lunch break from 3-4. i refreshed constantly. i never saw a buy button. people were buying ticket pairs being emptied out of carts at completely random and arbitrary times from people who were being screwed by the system.

and i don't even have the real complaints. those people who get ticket pairs in their carts and get screwed by the system is the real reason why this system is complete shit.

The equipment they would need does not cost that much. Really wouldn't even make a dent in their bank account to double the capacity which should be more than enough. They don't need Ticketmaster sized servers lol. Hell you could probably rent them for the week they'd need them for ticket sales.

It's not fair to complain about getting them or not, but it definitely is horrible that people had to wait 6 hours to find it out. And you can't even tell people it's there fault for trying that long when there were people still getting tickets at least 2 and a half+ hours after the sale. But it's not like 10c is torturing on purpose. I expect this sale to be what changes things up with the system. I can't remember people ever having to wait 6 hours, usually 40 minutes - 1 hour, no? 10c can't be pleased that people had to go through that.

They weren't particularly helpful after I called them when the tickets disappeared as I was entering my credit card details, I was told to keep trying. Things have to change. Today was unacceptable.

I don't know anything about Muse at Wembley. Sorry. Is Muse a big band? Did you personally buy tickets through their personal webpage for a show there or something? Or was it from an outsourced or Major label owned website?
 please tell me you are joking.... they run the sales on their website, no outsourcing.

Just saying guys, there are worse tragadies in the world today than a 10 club member not getting a ticket through a presale.

If you're willing to pay $150+ for a pair of tickets, you probably make what a yearly membsership costs in an hour.

The problem is people can complain until they are blue in the face, and they just don't care. They kind of went back on their morals.

Yes they did. a 2 dollar charity charge. Are you serious? If i want to give to charity I can do it myself.

Man, I agree about the charity. Last three pj shows I've been to they have tacked on extra fee's for charity. The only charity I donate to is the $8.00 beers at the shows.

My favorite was back in 06, they graciously donated several dollars of MY MONEY to some cause in Camden NJ that was for convicts who were recently let out of jail. They actually brought 3 of them up on stage for no less than 12 minutes...costing us a song...and the real kicker was when one of the men were re-arrested again 3 weeks later. I couldn't help but question the bands judgement after that one. If I want to donate to charity, I will. I don't agree with an extra charge being forcefully applied to my order.

I love collecting the Christmas single, that's the only reason why I have a membership. I'm so sorry for those who had such a hard time today. I refused to even try. Good luck on Friday/Saturday to those who are trying for tickets. Sometimes, you're way better off getting tickets from the venue itself. ;)

I was able to get Muse, Alice in Chains and Thom Yorke Tickets directly from each fan club with no membership dues. The process was very simple for all 3 and there wasn't 5 hours of Temp Out of Stock. Thom and Muse sold out almost immediately and when they were gone, they were gone. I don't understand how it could be so hard to have a server that does that. I understand that there aren't enough tickets for everyone but to make people try for hours to get them is horseshit.

Just an FYI.. The justice dept asked pearl jam to testify on a government inquiry into a ticketmaster monopoly. Pearl Jam did not instigate that. Other bands were asked but Pearl Jam actually stepped to the plate.

I agree 100% with what you are saying. I was there as well & when I actually heard what was going on with the extra cash & where it was going, I was truly disturbed by it. It made me a little sick.

  • To all you who keep trying to talk down complaining---it isn't about sell outs or not getting tickets, it is about a system that is so incredibly poorly run that a concert can be "temporarily out of stock" for 3 and a half hours with occasionally opening up tickets. I love PJ and their commitment to reserving quality tickets to loyal fans. It is one of the things that truly make being a fan of the band a "community". That said---today was an absolute shit show. People who are complaining are pointing that out---and they should. Today was a joke. The 10 Club should be humiliated by what happened today. It is 2010. This is a big time Rock and Roll band. No way your technology should fail you this miserably.
