Better off getting general public tix? Advice needed :)

I'm a long time PJ fan but not a long time tenclub member. I went to the philly show (closing down the spectrum) and got 300 level seats through tenclub pre-sale which was kinda nose bleederish.
I'm wondering since I have basically no seniority if I would be better off getting the best general public tickets available after pre-sale is over or should I still take my chances and hope to maybe win the 1-2 or 9-10 row lottery?
I've never had a good seat at a PJ show, and unfortunately am not made of money to buy a good pair on stubhub or the like. . . so I'm hoping for some good input here.
Thank u!

Row 10 is a lottery row tho :P
I will pray to the PJ gods that something good happens tomorrow. Really would love a good seat for my home show (columbus).
Any other experiences with low seniority and fanclub tickets? It's EVOLUTION baby!0 -
If you can't afford stubhub, 10c is the way to go.
For Chicago Night 1 I was 300 level, but I had solid seats the next night(100 level, 10th row off the floor)0 -
Chicago night 2 in '06, I hadn't been ten club member long, maybe a year at most. My seats were on the floor, probably 15th row or so. Ten club is the way to go.0

I've been tossing and turning over the same issue! I've sadly had to let my membership lapse a couple times now.
Been a current TC member only two years now. Chicago in 2009, through the TC, I was way up on the 300's (directly beneath the crown).
And, I know people who bought tickets from TM three days before the show, who sat in the 200's. Such is life.
In '06, however, having just recently renewed, I was on the floor for night 1 and halfway up in the 100's for night 2 (these were fantastic seats, by the way).
On this leg, with so few shows, and PJ's fanbase being as devoted as it is, a lot of people will be traveling. If turnout for single shows turns out higher than usual (compared to a full-fledged tour, with multiple shows in larger cities), I think it's worth it to have the tickets in hand.
By the way (oh shit, I've gone on too long - no one's reading anymore), it looks like demand is pretty high. I don't want to say too much. I best be going.0 -
I'm weighing the same issue myself. I joined in 2006 and got pretty good seats for Chicago 1. I was in the lower level, about halfway back and about 20 rows up. Not outstanding, but definitely good seats. No complaints whatsoever. Unfortunately, I let my membership lapse until last summer. I didn't buy through TenClub and went to both Chicago shows. Lousy seats the first night (although seems like I had better seats than a lot of members), but the second night I scored pretty awesome tickets through Ticketmaster. I bought them the day of the show.
This year, I'm probably gonna be road tripping from Chicago and hitting Indy and Cleveland. The problem is I'm going alone and I don't want to get stuck with an extra 10C ticket. I'd buy one from someone on here in a heartbeat, but Id' hate to drive all that way and have some sort of problem. Because I'm going alone, I'm gonna try to score a good single ticket when the public sale hits. If that doesn't work, I'll either StubHub it or skip out altogether. It's too bad you can't get single tix through 10C but I understand why it's done that way. Decisions, decisions.Los Angeles - Sep 11, 1992

Similar boat - I'm forking out the bucks to fly from LA to NY -- and there are 3 of us! So - definitely trying for 1 10C pair ( my husband can do something else 1 night ) but torn for the 2nd show - thinking I may try 10C anyway and try to score a good single from Ticketmaster - or go stubhub ( but single hard to buy that way).
Didn't sleep last night trying to figure it all out - probably not tonight either! Hearing the demand will be high is making it even harder!0 -
I see all of your points, everyone wants to see the guys play up and close. I was lucky enough to catch them playing at a considerably smaller venue (Cardiff in 2000) and it was amazing. so my advice is to go and see them in one of the small venues once in a while (if they keep playing them) itl make up for the times that you dont get such a great seat.

I think you should try to get the 10C tix if you can, especially for the MSG shows, then TM can be your backup plan. I'm pretty sure that 10C does try to get the best seats possible. Sorry to hear that that hasn't been everyone's experience, but it's been mine. Also, who knows what kind of seats TM has...could be worse than the 300's.Escape is never --- the safest path

I've had VERY good luck with TM buying single tickets - got great seats for Spectrum night 2 through them (Stone's side, about 5 rows up from the floor), but had 10c tix for 10/31 and won the lottery which was an unreal experience. The Single Ticket Theory works well, except for the obvious drawback of not being with friends during the show. To me, though, it's all about getting as much bang for my ticket buck as possible so I use it whenever I can.Post edited by DeLukin onI smile, but who am I kidding...0

i say if you can afford stub hub and pick out good seats at a high price do it...and stay off the forum today.
i am using 10club because having the chance to get in the garden at face value is great. don't care where i sit. i just want to be there. 0 -
im % 300 something, 10C tics are good, sometimes i get better from TM tho, at this point after 30+ shows, i dont have time or patience to go thru 10c presale debacle anymore, i go thru TM & usually do just fine, if i cant ill craglist, ya always find something"no more crowbars to my head"0

Buying a single ticket through TM is definitely the easiest, and cheapest way to try and get a good seat. There are usually a lot of lower singles left when the closest double seats are 200 level or above. Or at an outdoor venue, sometimes you can get a single pavillion ticket but no doubles. Best double they will offer would be GA lawn seat.
Single is the way to go if you don't mind not being by your friend(s) for the show.I am lost, I'm no guide, but I'm by your side0
