I'm flying in to Hartford the day before the show from Seattle. This will be my first trip to the northeast. I'm pretty pumped.. anyone going to the Boston show the following monday? I'm looken for a ride!!Writing checks that others pay.....0

regarding my Pearl Jam '10 with the sideways Whalers logo, it was a quick ode to the whale and PJ in good spirits not an entry in a contest

with a little imagination it could be a "p" and a "j"
who cares....PJ is going to bring the roof down on the civic center!!!! (again)
Does this help break up the p and j?

Fat Bastard will be driving to the show from NYC with guacamolejoe & meeting a few friends. Joe's driving my car, not only am I a fat bastard but I tend to drink a bit too much

. Seems that needlessly it's getting harder, to find an approach and a way to live
Constant Recoil..Sometimes life, Don't leave you alone

They have never played at the XL Center. In 06 and 08, along with 96 and 98, they played at the Dodge/Meadows. That's an ampitheater. XL is an arena in downtown Hartford I believe.Shows: 6.27.08 Hartford, CT/5.15.10 Hartford, CT/6.18.2011 Hartford, CT (EV Solo)/10.19.13 Brooklyn/10.25.13 Hartford

they never have. never. never thought i'd see the day. in 06 they played in may at the meadows and it was freakin cold that night. pj thermal shirt sales hit an all time high!!!
I was at that show and it was FREEZING out on the lawn! Rain, mud, cold. That day my husband and I vowed never to get lawn tickets there again!0 -

I was at the show in 1998 with the riots and the pepper spray.
And I was there for the return in 2006 in the freezing rain (although it was getting pretty hot in the first few rows
)
I was there again for the ridiculous heat wave in 2008.
Yes, the Meadows has given us Connecticut fans our fair share of memories. I certainly know the adult fans on here will be happy about the XL Center, but the Meadows is definitely more of a "party" atmosphere. It's gonna be significantly harder to find a place to tailgate/pre-party, because the XL Center is in the middle of downtown Hartford.
I know a good parking lot that's right next to a bar and 5 minutes walking distance from the XL Center. I think it's 15 bucks to park.

That's the lot. Zoom out 1 level and you'll see the XL Center on your left. That's where I'll park, assuming there are spaces, but there usually are.0 -
Just scored a pair. I can honestly say that I'm more excited about Hartford than I am about Boston. Saturday night with my friends in the great state of Connecticut!!!!!!!!!!!"FF, I've heard the droning about the Sawx being the baby dolls. You're damn right Connecticut is a great state
The fact that this is their first show in the XL center will make for a much more intimate and surprising show as well.0 -
Part of the fun is going to be meeting all you crazy kids...FirstExit, Newch91, BabaBooey and that guy Steve Dunne. And many many others...FirstExit wrote:FenwayFaithful wrote:Just scored a pair. Haha - didn't realize it was at the XL and not the Meadows until tonight! I remember the cold of 06- its why I have my navy PJ hoodie. 08 I remember the fence getting knocked down (we weren't involved - I'm a mom with a young'un) Only thing I've seen at XL was Prince in like 04. I'll probably try to get a hotel close so we don't have to park at all and can just walk to the show.R.i.p. Rigoberto Alpizar.
