which pearl jam lyric is most powerful for you? and why?

    To me it is probably between to sets of lyrics, but one is not a PJ song(rockin in Free World) and is a particular show(Pink Pop 92'), so not sure if it relevant to your topic, but I am fairly sure most PJ fans would say it is extremely powerful to me. Here we go!

    never get to be cool.     version from Pink Pop 92' specifically is just in a word "POWERFUL"!

    Love them both, but in general terms, got to go with "Alive" because everytime I hear it whether Live or from Album/CD version or Video version it gives me goosebumbs, meaning has chnaged over time, more like the feeling it aspires in me, from once was rage and agression to reflection and celebration of making it through lifes tougher times.

    There are so many others I love and find deep meaning in, and I think that is what makes me Love PJ and their music from their beginning stuff(Ten to Backspacer) to now!

    Musically and lyrically, could not have been written any better.

    Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

    ... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.

    Reading this thread just makes you realise how talented Ed is......a real poet :)

    There are just loads of meaningful Ed lyrics, many of which have already been mentioned.....but these lines are my favourite, never fail to make me feel 'uplifted' :D:D
