Celebrate birthdays & christmas. Although I think he would quite like to leave out christmas. We both forgot our anniversary last year :oops: Usually get each other a card or something on valentines. We always used to do something for the summer solstace when we were young, not so much now that we are getting older. My hubby really doesn't like traditional celebrations that much, he thinks it's too contrived.

To be honest, we have never been away together without our son. We have both been away separately, but the one left behind usually looks after our lad.
