Singing Free Bird by Lynyrd Skynyrd was Will Ferrell
Ben Harper on Slide Guitar, Conan on Guitar, Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top) on Guitar, Beck on guitar, Max Weinberg on drums, and the rest of Conans band. A fitting way to close the show if you ask me.
All in front of a giant American flag.

agreed great way to end it, but i am truly sad to see conan leaving the tonight show. I have watched nearly every episode over the last 7 months, i will truly miss him.
uncle neil had a great performance on tonights show as well0 -
I thought that was hilarious.Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V0

Great quote right before the end, truly heartfelt, and damn honest and straight true.
"To all the people watching, I can never thank you enough for your kindness to me and I’ll think about it for the rest of my life. All I ask of you is one thing: please don’t be cynical. I hate cynicism — it’s my least favorite quality and it doesn’t lead anywhere. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you’re kind, amazing things will happen. As proof, let’s make an amazing thing happen right now"0 -

A little channel called Fox and I hate to see Murdoch and his fuck face channels make money but that conversatoin is for another section of this board.0 -
It was a brilliant ending for sure. Conan will land on his feet, and I can't wait to laugh again. I like Dave to, but even if Jay hadn't fucked Conan over, I probably never would have watched him again anyways, but now I can assure you, Pearl Jam could play a ten-song set on the show, and I won't watch it.words seem so out of place.

yes, very classy. i agree!0 -
It took me a few minutes to determine whether or not that was the real Billy Gibbons. I thought they may had hired an impersonator based on the fact that Ferrell was in a character costume. But then when I saw a clear shot of Beck and Ben Harper I came to the conclusion it was the real Gibbons.0

Agreed, but I don't think Conan would succumb to Fox's bullshit.Cliffy6745 wrote:If Not For Love wrote:Top that Jay....

I think it would be pretty cool if he went on Comedy Central, before or after Stewart/Colbert. Of course, he probably wouldn't make nearly as much money doing so, which is why it's highly unlikely, but he would be able to get away with basically anything he wants!0 -
