I'm probably one of the only high school students to not have a Facebook- I mean, I see the appeal, but I don't know, I just don't care for it. Call me old-fashioned, but send me an e-mail, text me, call me!!! I'll probably end up getting one soon just because I want to be sure to keep in touch with friends before we all go away to college, though. My friends think I'm crazy for not having one, but I'm doing just fine!

Speaking of Facebook, does anyone have problems uploading pictures through their upload feature? Like, consistently? I'm continuously getting this 'upload failed' message and I don't understand why. Can someone help me out?

It's definitely excellent for keeping in touch with your PJ friends far and near...planning get togethers...visits when travelling for shows..lodging together..pre- and post-parties....newest fan vids...etc...we have a great time!
I agree! I use it for friends, PJ and others, plus family and business. I get more news on there than here for sure. :) I've connected with way more PJ people there too. I like it. :)

What's to take seriously or not take seriously? It's just another medium of communication, if you ask me. So that's like saying someone has problems if they take the phone seriously, or if they take the mail seriously.
  • In the UK, people spend a frightening amount of time on Facebook and seem intent on reporting their every waking move. They claim to be keeping in touch with friends and socialising by being cooped up at home, staring at a screen. Madness!!

10.15: _____ is just off to the shops.

11.30: _____ is back from the shops and is unpacking

12.00: _____ has unpacked and is having a coffee

    Who gives a shit!!!

The thing that caused us to close our Facebook account after a few weeks is the amount of viruses we were getting via superwall (if you have that, delete it - trust me!) and the incredible amount of invitations to join inane groups and clubs.

    "Become of fan of sleeping"

Get the fuck out of here!!

No, sorry, but I ain't exactly Facebook's biggest fan!
It's gonna be a glorious day...

Have to agree; there are loads of useless fan pages and groups out there. I thought being a fan of 'sleeping' is bad enough. But there are some fan pages like 'Why is monday so far away from Friday, and Friday so bloody close to Monday', and even 'Sometimes when I walk, I try to keep my feet in the little square tiles', shit like that.

I agree with the others that say treat it for what it is. We use it to keep up with family and friends around the world. Much as I'd like to phone them all with some news it would take all day and cost a fortune.

It's a bit sad when people become addicted and type any old crap. I had one friend who'd leave you guessing with comments like "that was a bad weekend". What happened, give me a clue. So i deleted him. Problem solved.

Have only had Facebook for a little while now. Myspace got me laid quite a few times. One new girl and a few others from the past that "found" me on it. Of course, on a down note, one I completely fell in love with and was with for two years until she suddenly changed into the cunt I remembered and destroyed my heart unlike anything I've ever known.... :?

Also, I got a job over Myspace that turned out cool as hell. Just met somebody once, partied with them, became myspace "friends", then actually asked for a job and got one. And its great for keeping in touch with family!
Twenty-ten watch it go to fire!!!

I use it for catching up with family and friends. especially as I work at night and usually am asleep when they are awake, it helps to arrange stuff without them getting thier heads ripped off for waking me up with a phone call! LOL. have family working in different states and countries and som e who are constantly on the move, so it's handy in that respect.
But have had some dickheads try and friend" me, like the former friend and her ex boyfriend who I had restraining orders against at one time. They both sent friend requests within a week of each ohter...now that wasn't suss! So just blocked them

My 14-year-old cousin joins these types of groups & I think they were created by/for her demographic. I figure, why not let her have her fun, no matter how silly I think it is? I don't have any trouble ignoring these pages. I don't begrudge these kids their silly FB pages any more than I get upset about tween movies at the theater.... I just watch something else. I certainly don't swear off movies because of them.
  • I would keep it. It's a great tool for getting announcements out to a mass of people and for keeping in touch in general. I don't use it very often. It's not like this message board to me but it has a purpose. I wouldn't delete it. Also, it's a tremendous help in organizing class reunions or inviting people to your hall of fame induction ;)
