    I can see why they chose it. The strokes kind of steered rock in the direction that it is currently going. Soooooo many bands have copied the Strokes sound but nobody ever seems to talk about that much. The strokes are very underrated imo and I'd say it was a solid choice. Not to mention, that album is brilliant.


    *PS - we don't need to see everyone's top 1000 band list that they would have chosen instead of the strokes, instead how about an actual discussion?

    Is This It has some great songs, but also quite a bit of filler.

    Songs for the Deaf - I'd probably go with this, if not for all the annoying radio clips throughout.

    The Strokes were forced upon everyone as the "saviours or rock" from day one, which is a complete joke. It doesn't surprise me that NME has yet to remove their heads from their asses.

    is this it - great album, I remember how I listened to it 2-3 times a day during summer 2002.. good old days 8-)

    I loved Is this It?, but to call it the best album of the decade is a bit much. Rolling Stone rated it as the #2 album of the decade, so it seems the critics tend to agree.
