Last minute Christmas shopping......

I'm slated for the 23rd after work to do my shopping for the wife and a few other items. I have always been a last minute shopper.

i've never done last minute christmas shopping, i was usually always working!when i still worked retail, i always loved the male shoppers - always shopped late, always polite, couldn't really give a shit. :P they asked your opinion and valued it, and bought whatever you recommended.

now overall, the women still took forever and yada yada yada. generalizing of course, but this was my overall experience working many a christmas eve!

i'll be home eating a fab meal and then drinks by the fire....kicking off 12 days off of relaxation. 8-)

I will have a few things to pick up still on Christmas eve, but for the most part will be done tonight , maybe tomorrow.

2 years ago on Christmas eve I almost had a nervous breakdown. I had it planned out so well what I was getting the GF, but almost every plan went to shit. so with two hours to go before all the stores closed I still had 350 plus dollars to spend.

only reason I waited was we were tight that christmas, and had to wait for my check.

never again will i go through that.

Can't stand last minute shopping, it get's too stressful, what if I can't find what I want!! Instead on christmas eve, after I've finished work we will be going to see Avatar in 3D then going for something to eat. Nice and relaxing

being jam-packed in a movie theatre with a bazillion other people is your idea of relaxing?

i love going to the movies...but yes, not when everyone else is all there too. i'll await a matinee, on a monday. :P i'd normally be joining you for eating out christmas eve, but hubby has decided to cook instead! he's an awesome cook and cooks all the time, tho this month we've been getting takeout/eating out like crazy, so i guess it'll be novel to stay home. 8-) definitely no last-minute shopping tho!

When it's dark and I am accompanied by a nice bag of sweets, it's as though nobody else is there

Plus it's a bit chilly so the more people in there the more I benefit from all that body heat...... it's ok as long as you don't sniff too hard :?

i like my space...and to put my feet up on the chair in front of me....and i hate hearing people munching away on popcorn/candy, crinkling bags :evil: , talking and/or texting :? ....so yea.......hahaha. our fave theatre is quite comfy, stadium seating and yea....smells ok.

I think it might be fun to sit on a bench with an iced coffee and watch the people but I'm done with shopping as of last week.

Hitting the stores 2morrow with my cousin to get both our shopping done. Nothing like the last minute. Both have the day off and first hitting Best Buy at 10am. If all goes to plan will be having drinks at Yield Bar by 8pm.

last night toys r us was open until 1am...i went in there around 1130pm and there was hardly any customers in there. the ones that were knew we were all in the same predicament and were practically high fiving each other. the workers were doing inventory and stocking shelves and stuff, and were joking around with customers. i even got to test out nerf guns with them. an awesome experience. i also equate it to grocery shopping at wegmans the day before thanksgiving and bringing small children to disrupt the whole scene. on purpose. just to add to the chaos. love it!

I love the middle of the night shopping. My fav shopping centre trades 36hrs straight,, so the night before xmas eve me and friends usually hit the tiles and search those last minute steals. I usually have everything done already, so it's just a bit of fun for me. Unfortunately this year I didn;t get to do it as I have only just gotten home from work (it's just past 2am) and couldn't be fudged, that and I didn't waqnt to go all dirty and smelly from work.

i think those who shop at the last minute, enjoy the thrill of the hunt, the craziness, the crowds, the hours, etc...are a special breed! you're why stores are open insane hours!

people are so desperate to find anything right now...i laughed when i set up a wall of wire head massagers at work yesterday...an hour later an they were almost all gone.

it's gonna be crazy...and i'm about to go off to work the madness!!

I just went down for a squiz and people are just going beserk. I got my slab of cc and dry and some choccys and plodded around while people were just tearing madly around me......It's not like xmas is a surprise occurence...it happens the same time every yea :roll: r. People are funny..fun-neh!
