Fruisciante leaves Chilis

I think the Chilis have really struggled since BloodSugar. That was their zenith. Everything they had worked towards came together on that album. The melding of musical styles, the story telling, the humour, the vibe of the album, It has to be one of the great rock ( for want of a better word ) albums. Nothing they have come up with since even comes close. Nowadays their music is pretty safe, you know what to expect from a Chilis album. Maybe Fruciante felt the time was right to move on, do something different. As an aside I would recommend to anyone who hasn't heard the Chilis pre-Bloodsugar to get hold of their first four albums RHCP, Freaky Styley, Uplift Mofo Party Plan and Mothers Milk. Amazing stuff from a great band.0

Meh, I never really liked RHCP or Fruisciante's solo stuff, that album he recorded while all fucked up was pretty interesting to listen to, and that Bad Brains cover on there was pretty awesome, but other than that I didn't really get into any of their stuff. Dude can play the shit out the guitar though."If my thoughts, dreams, could be seen, they'd probably put my head, in a guillotine, but it's alright ma, it's life and life only."0

No great loss. The Chilis have become boring, anyway. Thanks EPOTTSIII!

Fruisciante is definitely one of my favorite guitarists around right now. Sad to see him leave the peppers.
I will say, Stadium Arcadium had some great tunes, it just seemed quite repetitive to me. I wonder if he became bored with their sound?0 -

+1 This thread started as a discussion on John leaving to how much the Chilis suck - NOT COOL people!all you need is love, love is all you need0 -

lol are you serious with this? SA was complete trash from start to finish, I didn't like a single thing on it.“May you live to be 100 and may the last voice you hear be mine.” - Frank Sinatra0 -
Maybe they will play One Hot Minute now

Yes, BSSM was a phenomenal album from start to finish, but all of their albums since than are still very good. all this complaining about By the Way, Calif, and SA, is just like the casual PJ fan saying that thy've never done anything good since TEN. Well, I say fuck it, there's something I like on every RHCP album and I like them all for different reasons.
It is sad to see Frusciante leave, as he is an incredibly talented and unique musician. It's just hard to imagine what his reasons are for leaving such a dynamic group. I mean, who could ever imagine they'd jam with another FLEA-type musician, or a Chad Smith?Pick up my debut novel here on amazon: Jonny Bails Floatin (in paperback) (also available on Kindle for $2.99)0 -
Love John and wish him luck in the future.
"By The Way" is my favorite Peppers album.
Always thought of that album as their "Yield"0 -
