I was thinking about something the other day because I too long for nearly unattainable posters (Charlotte '96, Raleigh '98, etc.). Now that Fathead.com allows you to upload your own pictures, what's to stop someone from getting a high res image of their coveted poster and creating a fathead to stick up on the wall (for personal use)? You could enjoy the poster hanging on the wall in perfect condition without having to spend the extra cash framing (though framing looks great) or being taken for a ride on ebay.

I'm not looking to rip off the artists or anything by distributing these copies and it wouldn't stop me from buying posters from the artists when I can get them, but this would seem to fill a need for getting our hands on posters that can only be attained through ebay for a small fortune. Thoughts?

I suppose its a bit like someone having reprints of the mona lisa.....but if this is to be done it should be done by the artists who have the copyright to them....

people collect posters as art and the associated value, and people like to have the real thing on their wall.

plus a reprint wouldnt be silkscreened, it might just look awful

    Good points..thanks guys.

Give it another year +, hopefully bluray discs & burners drop down in price to say dvdr's/dvdr burner's were back in '02, it's gonna be a magical treat. Instead of shipping out 10 data dvdrs @ 4 gigs a pop each let's say = 40 gig's. With bluray, ship out 10 bluray discs @ 50 gig's a pop = 500 gig's!

    Technology + Pearl Jam = Sweet! 8-)

that being said D I can pick up a USB harddrive for £30 for 250gigs.....so that may be easier for you to do rather than messing with discs

Not for sale. I get more offers on this poster than anything else I have.

I would only trade it for a highly sought after 96/98 Pearl Jam poster.
    Thanks,
    Chris

    :(

Well, i think we still have chance! :D
