My teenage daughter does not understand my love for PJ..Hates flannel and the grunge scene...it made me laugh to be at american eagle store with her and the guy shirts were long sleeve button up flannels. She said that maybe PJ was cool before everyone else caught on.
My younger daughters love pearl jam. My 4 year old rocks around the house screaming "i'm a pearl jam girl I wanna be a rock star..Both the younger ones love Dopwn. My eight year old likes to sit with me in a dark room with tthe christmas lights on listening to songs like black and nothingman. She asks on e question after another about the band..She asked" daddy why do you love pearl jam so much"? I said honey i don't know It is just something in my soul or something stupid like that..it made me think

Sure there's a few catchy songs, but I find it surprising kids like the band. They wouldn't have done anything for me musically before the age of 13.

I was 10 in 1991 when Ten came out and seriously they have been my favourite band ever since! Obviously children (including me back in the day) don't understand the meaning of the lyrics but they can totally understand great music from early on. My kids (nearly 5 & 2) and I jam out to Pearl Jam all the time, we have our little family band - I play my guitar my daughter plays hers and my son bashes on his drum. Its great to introduce your children to something that you feel passionately about and for them to show love back. :D

My dad used to listen to (& still does) The Doors, Fleetwood Mac, Bob Dylan when I was little and guess what .... I still like their music.. ;)
