Mr Snuggleton was born Tedward Snuggleton Jr, to Vera and Grizzly Snuggleton of the Porirua Snuggleton family.
After a brief flirtation with disco, he legally changed his name to Teddy Vedder and toured the country as a Pearl Jam covers bear, only to be discovered by Eddie Vedder when Ed was over in NZ for 7WC.
Feeling sheepish (baa) Teddy Vedder changed his name back to Snuggleton and he and Ed struck up a lifelong friendship. Snuggs was quoted in Womans' Day as saying "Eddie Vedder is a true hero to the masses, a working bear's man. His soul and music speak to the people and he's also a snappy dresser." Vedder was overheard speaking warmly about his pal Snuggs at a benefit gala for Corduroy Paw Wear and Tear: "Who's the snuggliest, fluffiest little bear? You are! Yes you are!"
Snuggleton is currently trying to make his way back into the loving arms of the band that would love him if they were given half a chance. He's quite keen on befriending one Mr Mike McCready.0 -

Oh, man... Mr. Snuggleton is Teddy Vedder?! Who knew?
I was at one of Teddy Vedder's cover shows, years ago, in this dingy basement club. I felt kinda bad for the guy. He was hitting the bottle pretty hard that night & stumbling all over the stage. He was crowbarring in bad bear puns into every song, and when he changed "Rats" to "Bears", and did all the actions... it was embarrassing. And the less said about "Grizzly Out of Control" the better.
But I had no idea that he and the world-famous class act that is Mr. Snuggleton were one and the same. Good to see that meeting Ed helped him turn his life around.93: Slane

ahh yes. a period in his life he's not proud of, but which shaped his life and made him into the bear he is today.
(p.s. little known fact - the song colors and the kids mentions mr snuggleton... back in his teddy vedder days he had bleached fur - his bret michaels look - hence the lyric 'yellow hair, you are such a funny bear'. snuggs and chan marshall were great friends. snuggs was in the studio with chan and ed when they were recording good woman and evolution.)0 -
And here was I thinking the "DG" in the liner notes stood for Dave Grohl. Must have been Dangerous Grizzly, then?doompony wrote:snuggs and chan marshall were great friends. snuggs was in the studio with chan and ed when they were recording good woman and evolution.)

When Ed walks into the studio at about 1:57, Mr Snuggleton is clearly sitting on his head!“Do not postpone happiness”
