    I think the album kicks ass. And I've never been a Josh Hommes fan. You can tell that these guys work really well together.

    And who cares if there's people out there who dislike them. Why insist on trashing them completely? Find something you enjoy and stick with it instead of mindless negative energy, OP.

    wouldve loved for PJ to have done an album with dave before settling in with matt... something super heavy and bad ass... no regrets about matt, but i think the inconsistancy with drummers is what kept propelling PJ in a different direction with nearly ever album up until matt... hell, id still love to hear what they could come up with with dave... not really that plausible at this point i guess without breaking up the band... dave is probably too fun for them too... and another dave drummer would just get confusing... :D now im rambling

    Grohl's a good drummer but I don't think he's that much better than any other Joe Drummer from the 90's. I'm sure he could have fit in fine with PJ, but I'm happy they got Jack Irons.

    i think they could probably use someone a little less worried about technique these days... just a little fun and backbone would be a positive influence on today's PJ IMO... get back to their sloppier improvised rock roots

    overall, just real glad my favorite 90's bands/musicians are still doing what they do best... no real complaints

    saw them at acl, enjoyed them live, have not heard the whole album but heard it blows.

    wow I can't believe people are really saying that. I can't get enough of this album. I think too many people were expecting the reincarnation of Led Zeppelin or something and are let down. I was expecting Queens of the Stone Age with Jones and Grohl as the rhythm section...and that's what I got.

    Exactly. It sounds like a Melting Pot of all three guys. JPJ's groovy basslines, Josh's Vocal's and guitar work and Dave's relentless pounding of the kit.

    I don't think he's the best either, but his appeal lies I think in his ability to beat the living shit out of the skins. If there ever was a drummer that could drown out amplified guitars, it's Dave Grohl.
