I know we all love pearl jam, but there are always those songs that they play during a live show that allow you to either take a leak or grab another beer. For me those songs include the following:

last Kiss
Nothing as it Seems
Smile (I just don't get this song)
Jeremy

I would like to here everyone elses thoughts on this topic

I try to be like a camel so I don't miss anything. I rarely leave a show, any, not just PJ, during a set. But then again I'm not a big drinker prior to a show. I rather hold off until after the show to have a couple of beers with fellow fans and talk about a great show.
If there were no Angels would there be no sin?

Unfortunately Evenflow seems to be one of those songs. Which is a shame, because there is a lot of opportunity for crowd participation and of course Mike rips it. I've never been a fan of drinking inside of the venue (costs too much, makes you have to pee, and prohibits rocking out for fear of spilling your expensive beverage) so I get my drink on (in moderation) in the parking lot and try to de-hydrate after the gates open and during the opening band.
I smile, but who am I kidding...

Im with you, infact I have a slightly weak bladder so do not do my drinking before and during gigs. I am there for the gig not as a night out drinking so I have a few beers after the gig. That goes for whatever band I see

I don't know what it is about Dissident. I just can't stand that song, and I pretty much LOVE everything PJ has a hand in. It's the only PJ song I always skip when it comes on.

During my last run of concerts I made it through a couple without having to go.

But for a few I did have to go. I usually go during some of my favorite songs. NOT cause I dislike the song, but rather because I have heard it already a dozen times, and I know I'll get it the next time.

I targeted Given to Fly, Evenflow, and I want to say Red Mosquito during the LA shows.

I'm usually back before the song ends and still get to enjoy it.

Now for Red Mosquito..... I loved hearing that song. In fact it was one of my most anticipated songs.

After hearing it at LA1, LA2, LA3, and LA4 in order, I was able to run to the restroom right after 'The End', and be back before the first note had been played, or at least I was coming back as the song started.

So when you've got to go, I say go, but plan on doing it during a song change, especially if you know what the next song is and just heard it 4 times in a row.

Guess its okay for americans as you got your own seats but if you want to drink beer or spill it on everyone then go to a pub, if you want to enjoy a good show rock then just stay there. Just drives me insane when you get these morons with at least 4 beers each trying to make their way back through the crowd to their space.
  • doesn't make a difference if your Russian or American lol if you have to go you have to go
for me could care less if there is 20 people i have to climb over, either move or ill pee on you lol
could be soda or water doesnt have to be beer,
  • Last Kiss sends me running for the beer, or to release the beer I've already consumed. Evacuation sends me out of the room as well, but I don't feel that I need an excuse like beer or peeing to justify that.

Nah, it just means you're a sheep like all the other Evacuation haters.

Felt really guilty, needing to take a pee break during NAIS and I Am Mine at the Spectrum. Being offered free beer all around the parking lots made me forget my golden rule of making sure I don't drink too much when it's getting close to show time.

    I'm never going there again.
115 bucks for half a haircut by a novice? I want my money back!
  • I have never taken a beer run or pee break after PJ has taken the stage.

However, once the house light come on I make my way to the exit, usually during Yellow Led or Rockin' in the Free World.
  • I hate to leave in the middle of the show, but I went during Just Breathe/ The End,(saw them play it at every show on the tour) also not the biggest world wide suicide fan.

i'm pretty good at holding it...but Evenflow is usually my pee break song. I made it all the way through the 10/30 show at the spectrum, but the halloween show...i HAD to go...and went during Black...mostly out of fear that I would miss something better :) (like smile!)

and i don't go for beers...that's what my husband is for ;)
No time to be void or save up on life...you've got to spend it all.
  • I don't know what it is but the more I consume for a show the better it turns out to be...my two best shows are Grand Rapids '06 and Hartford '08 and I drank more before those shows than any other...point being if you see me at a show give me a drink...just look at the setlists.

The Fixer, back to back with Parachutes would be my ultimate pee break. If Parachutes was still going on, I'd probably jump into the beer line too.
