That a boy Timmy!!! Even as a Giants fan, I do think Wainwright got screwed...
Lincecum repeated as the National League Cy Young Award winner, besting St. Louis right-handers Chris Carpenter and Adam Wainwright despite getting fewer first-place selections than Wainwright in the vote conducted by the Baseball Writers' Association of America and announced on Thursday.
Lincecum (15-7, 2.48 ERA, 261 strikeouts) received 11 first-place votes and 100 points. Carpenter (17-4, 2.24 ERA, 144 strikeouts) finished second with nine first-place votes and 94 points, followed by Wainwright (19-8, 2.63 ERA, 212 strikeouts), who had 12 first-place votes and 90 points.

I think Wainwright and Carpentor being on the same team hurt them. They probably split votes with the voters.

It's even more amazing that he finds time to front the Black Crowes  . Guess Kate Hudson has a thing for ballplayers.

Dude is going to break the bank in his upcoming arbitration. Santana money? Hell, he's better than Johan.
P.S. The Giants would probably give Willie a new coat if he asked.

to bad he won't have the career like johan will have. stoner boy will be outta the big leagues in a few years if he keeps pitching the way he does. i'm shocked he hasnt had tommy john surgery yet. going 15-7 is hardly making bank. lincecum had 2 more wins than johan did and johan was pitching with a bum arm for the most of the season and had to be shutdown in august. had johan not getting injured he woulda won 20+ games and won the cy young. at best lincecum is worth a 5 year 60 million dollar deal.imalive wrote:

whoa, whoa, whoa....I chose Santana because, to me, he's the best pitcher in baseball. So, take it as a compliment. But right now, I think "stoner boy" is as good or better. Have you ever seen Lincecum throw?? He's unfuckingbelievable. Stoner boy has been throwing with the same motion for years....I'm hoping he truly is a freak of nature and his body/arm will hold up. Lincecum is what Pedro was.If I had known then what I know now...

congrats to him, he deserves it.
on the topic of his arm holding up, i saw a special on him where they were talking to a pitching coach whos famous for analyzing throwing motions. apparently this guy predicted priors injury problems and ankiels breakdown, amongst many other things. according to him, lincecums delivery is actually pretty technically perfect, even if it is unorthodox, and he didnt foresee any major arm problems. take that for what its worth, i guess"Ah, life is a gate, a way, a path to Paradise anyway, why not live for fun and joy and love or some sort of girl by a fireside, why not go to your desire and LAUGH..."0 -

rm10 - I'm gonna hold you to that!

In the sad history of the SF Giants, it would be more likely they sign him to a big $$$ contract and he blows out his arm/elbow/shoulder the next day

He deserved to win.He had a better year than last(despite 3 fewer wins)....didn't give up a single hr in his home ballpark. His offense was the worst in the league. He was involved in a whole bunch of 2 to 1, 1 to 0, 3 to 2 games all year, lead in K's and had a great WHIP. Every pitcher has potential to get injured on every pitch...nature of the sport. To say he is worth no more than 5yrs 60mil......thats just dumb. He is the Pedro(the one that was dominant in 90's and early 2000's) of today. He will develop even more pitches and he has a good attitude.......Insert because he is always high jokes here
. He gets the most out of his body than anyone in the league 0 -
Still can't believe the Mariners passed over the homegrown Pac 10 Strikeout king...Nice Job, Tim! Oh, and you can take the boy out of East Renton, but you can't take East Renton out of the boy...
