I think we all know what Obama would say about a post like this. And I would agree.
My condolences to the original poster.0 -

Sorry for your loss.
My sister was terminally ill the last time PJ came to tour Australia and I always had that hanging around like a dark cloud when I was at the shows. She died a month after the Newcastle show.
This time around I hoping for no bad news and just a pure celebration of the band that is Pearl Jam!!I can't go the library anymore, everyone STINKS!!0 -
I´m really sorry for your loss...Thankfully the music always is in these so difficult moments...From Montevideo, Uruguay.0

My Dad died exactly a week after I saw PJ at London O2 in August this year.
Backspacer will always be associated with his passing, but for me, it also signifies hope.
I'm so sorry for your loss. Stay strong.Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...
... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.0 -
Thanks, I really appreciate that. I wasn't going to mention my dad's passing again (I originally posted it on Feb 21, when he passed away). This is a Pearl Jam message board, not a grief counseling message board. But when I looked at the liner notes and saw the dates they were in Hollywood recording this great album (2/16-2/27), the memories came back to me. The guys were only about 15-20 miles away from me when he died.11/6/95, 11/18/97, 7/13/98, 7/14/98, 10/24/00, 10/25/00, 10/28/00, 6/2/03, 6/3/03, 6/5/03, 7/6/06, 7/7/06, 7/9/06, 7/10/06, 7/13/06, 7/15/06, 7/16/06, 7/18/06, 10/21/06, 4/10/08, 4/13/08, 9/30/09, 10/1/09, 10/6/09, 10/7/09, 10/9/090

My father died on the same day as we were sent on the hunt for artwork to unlock the Demo version of Speed Of Sound. And for the last week before that i was listening to The End non stop. I couldn't seem to get enough of that song. So it was about 5 hours before he died that i heard Speed of sound for the first time. I remember sitting and listening to the song and trying to understand the lyrics..............Some of these songs have left a very heavy mark on me. And will always be associated with the passing of my Dad.
To the OP......i'm sorry for your loss. I know exactly how you feel.
