- Wow!!! What a setlist! So much better than night 1!
- Band's energy
- No Way!!! 11 years since, wow, and they nailed it!
- Supersonic w/ lyrics just for Seattle, although I only understood a little of it, looking forward to the bootleg to hear them better.
- Present Tense, In My Tree, and Faithful (3 of my favorite 5 songs in 1 night! (0 the night before)
- Go, STBC, Comatose - tonight just semmed to ROCK more than last night
- I only remember one small lyric flub, there were lots on night 1 - Ed probably realized how many flubs he did night 1 and was much more prepared
The bad:
- Repeating Just Breathe, The End, and The Real Me since they had the extra musicians here in Seattle for them... understandable and all 3 were awesome, just a slight negative to the night since we always hope they don't repeat any songs :-)
- The crowd sdfghjdfghjdfgh... ok, so I was in section 106, row 11 to be exact, worst seats I've ever had in my 23 shows, but I try not to let that bother me, I was going nuts throughout... but I guess I need to come to expect that the crowd around me will suck when I'm not in the 1st 20 rows. For example, two women in front of us were sitting down for at least half the show and texting all the time, they left after the 1st encore too. About 40 - 50 people in front of us sat down during Insignificance!!! and didn't get back up until Black. Unbelievable! Lots of people behind us were yelling shit during Just Breathe and The End b/c the band was playing slower songs. I quote one loud yell from behind at the start of The End, "This sucks. They played this same shitty song last night." They were several rows behind me and a ways over, but I could hear them talking, most talking shit, all through both songs. Very frustrating. Also, I seemed to be the only one in the area singing at all (except during the obvious crowd sing alongs).
- Ed seemed to acknowledge the disappointing crowd a little. He tried a call and response during Not For You, and when he didn't get much of a response, he gave up immediately. I believe he also acknowedged that the crowd wasn't much into the slow songs when after The End, he said something like, I know u guys want something faster, but u.r out of luck as they went into Black. He was joking with us, but I expect he was pretty disappointed too.
Overall:
- Loved the show, the band was amazing as always, the setlist was one of the best at any show I've been to, and I had an awesome time as did my g/f at her 2nd show. However, and she feels stronger about this than me, the energy from the crowd was rather weak for a PJ show.
You make some good points

that was an amazing sequence / exchange in the show ~ very memorable ~ thanks
Can you talk about the scrapbook?0 -
Made the trip back to Ontario from beautiful Seattle. Two amazing shows. Night two did for me thought. All night and NO WAY

Thanks 10C and my PJ Sister for great seats in section 128 for both nights. Night 2 seats were the best which made the night that much more special. It's amazing what a difference 20 odd seats closer to the stage makes. Both night Mike side....god the boys are on fire and the rest of you like minded people going to these show don't worry about the set lists because I know I am really spoiled the energy from the band is incredible. And I loved hearing the new stuff. The pilgrimage to Seattle was well worth it. What a beautiful city, beautiful food, beautiful people. Saw the Showbox, Easy Street Records of course, played guitar with Jimmy's statue, the market, Capital Hill area, etc. It was really nice experiencing a "home-town" show. OH thanks to all of the kind souls we met from everywhere, NewZealand, Brazil, UK, Seattle, NY, Lethbridge, etc. I love PJ fans and yes the love for the wonderful music they keep coming out with the love for these wonderful individuals still remains. I love the new stuff for different reasons and really feel lucky again to have witnessed these two incredible shows. And it was so cool to see the string and wind sections..WOW!!! I am sure this has been all said the previous pages but just had to post. And totally jealous of the lucky souls in Vancouver who got Breath....(Four Places
) Enjoy the rest of the tour!!!!
PeacePeace,

Too many shows but never enough!

The show was AMAZING . . . all of the older songs were kick ass and the new album is just as good! I loved Just Breathe with the string instruments . . . I still can't believe I got to witness it and have it happen on my birthday!!! I brought a friend who I converted into a fan and this was his first PJ live experience . . . lucky guy!!!
The guys just keep getting better and better!
Can't wait to see how Tuesdays show compares to tonight's in Portland.
I would love to see Ben Harper get on the stage with PJ!!!
Can't wait for tonight!!!

I will never understand you people who don't wanna hear Even Flow, Courduroy, Alive. I go away disappointed if they don't play 'em. If I had my way they would play the first six songs off of Ten every show. Those are the greatest first six songs on any album ever made. Period. Those songs have way more energy and emotion than most songs I have ever heard.Wrongly Accused wrote:No Even Flow, No Corduroy, No Alive, No Better Man, No Daughter... AWESOME, finally!(I guess someone took notice of the No Even Flow shirt guy in Chicago)... When was the last time that's happened at a proper full length show... Like never? lol I loved those spaces filled with other stuff tonight, and hope it becomes the norm now
Great show tonight. Haven't seen it mentioned here, but EV said it was the bands 50th show in Seattle tonight...
Wouldve been nice if by acknowledging Springsteens 60th birthday, they wouldve done one of his songs instead of The Real Me by The Who(or in addition to)... Cmon now!!!
Ames poster tonight was good again, but I like last nights better.
The Shawn Kemp poster was better than both though...
The local Seattle tshirt is awesome, and a tribute to the Sonics... Wish I had one... Better than last nights
If they didn't end with YL it wouldve even been more monumental with those staples all not being played this evening.
All in all a really great show. Night 2 much much better than night 1 , which I thought was very standard.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I love those songs and they are what got me into this band in the first place so many years ago. JMO. Peace.0 -

Yes, I believe that would be the exchange0 -
yep! thats my bro( Heath) in the hat!
nice to see a picture!!the oceans made me, but who came up with love?0 -
i was a little disappointed and will have to put these 2 shows at the bottom of my list compared to the other PJ shows i've been to. that sounds worse than it is since their worst is better than most bands.
anyway, i never thought they sounded as good at the start of tours so hopefully it's just that but Mike didn't seem to play his parts very much. I can understand No Way not being played in so long but when they played insignificance Mike only played rhythm along with Stone, it didn't sound the same without Mike's parts, especially during the chorusdon't compete; coexist
what are you but my reflection? who am i to judge or strike you down?

While I'm with you that the end of the tour is usually far better than the beginning of the tour ... I thought night 2 was fantastic. Felt they worked out a lot of kinks just over 2 nights.
Note, the set list was a big win for me, so that helps."You're one of the few Red Sox fans I don't mind." - Newch91

yeah, it was a good set list but i still don't understand why Mike just played rhythm with Stone and not his parts?don't compete; coexist

Listening to the bootleg only confirms the kick-ass-ness of this concert!! If you think the crowd sucked, check out "Black"! The energy comes across as high and energetic on this boot, even during more subdued moments. Amazing set list! Thanks again PJ!“The love received is the love that is saved.”
