On the humorous side... you have to check out Ed on Albawilds' youtube footage during Unemployable. He's rocking out during the intro... at :20 (approximately) he suddenly realizes his cue is in a split second, "Oh crap!"

Thanks, PJ for decades of awesomeness.
* On a side note... message board haters, don't start knocking Ed for this slight miscue and display of humaness ("I expect more from these guys- especially in Seattle!").
I think he did something similar in Toronto . . .. the first lyrics you hear are "that says Jesus saves . . . "
perhaps he missed his cue there too (I was there, but can't remember seeing if it happened). Barrie 08/22/98

Porch rocked...Spin the Black Circle v. good...

Anyone here who gave Ed the book (?) and got a tambourine later? Just curious what was in it or what it was, if not a book.

In My Tree chorus alternate style, or whatever you might call it...Ed sped up lyrics.

Overall:
- Loved the show, the band was amazing as always, the setlist was one of the best at any show I've been to, and I had an awesome time as did my g/f at her 2nd show. However, and she feels stronger about this than me, the energy from the crowd was rather weak for a PJ show.

Still riding a high from such an incredible show. Night 1 was special, night 2 blew it out of the water. The band was tighter, the set list was so well crafted; someone put a lot of thought into night 2 after night 1, and I loved night 1. And except for the new songs, Evolution and Real Me, no overlap? Crazy.
The crowd was great both nights. Ed made a comment about the number of people - some of who even paid for their tickets (I think a reference to the number of friends/family with comps). My wife - who has been to only a few PJ shows - talked about how great it was that everyone was singing, like a big Irish pub. I apologized for singing off key, she said she never heard me standing right next to her.
Ed introduced Supersonic as a "one-time-only" version with lyrics about the departed Supersonics. My son's comment was "scholars will puzzle for years" trying to decipher the words. Turns out a friend of mine was given the lyrics; I'll try to get them and post.
Ed made a big deal out of the fact that you can't bring beer into the arena. "You can bring a beer into a Sonics game - oops". "Sometimes you just want a fucking beer." Funny.
And for fuck's sake, I sat down for part of the show because I could. This show was amazing for its waves of energy, its ebb and flow. Sometimes when the music makes your heart break it feels good to sit and ponder, and let the next wave of energy propel you upwards. Try it sometime.
And about Evenflow - I will die happy even if I never hear it again. But it's worth it for Mike's solo, and the crowd loved it on night 1, you gotta love that.0 -
Absolutely EPIC show, holy fuck! I've been hoping/waiting for No Way for years... THANK YOU PEARL JAM!
On the seats, night 1 I was in Sec 127, last night 23rd row on the floor. I prefer the wing seats if I'm that far back on the floor, but I caught good glimpses of the band off and on throughout the show and we totally rocked out!
The book that got handed to the band was a scrapbook that was put together at the Wishlist Foundation pre-parties. For a donation you could write in the book and the lovely jamaniac was there taking photos and printing them on the spot so you could have an accompanying photo.
Sweeeeeet ass show; this boot is a must!!! Portland next for me; hope everyone who's headed north enjoys Vancouver this Friday (EH!).

yup same thing happened to us, we were in row 15 monday and then moved up to the side stage. had an awesome view though so it was all goodWrongly Accused wrote:Also, no complaints here but somehow it seems like everyone that was in row 15 or further back on the floor got pushed to the side stage section. Interesting. Just wonder how that happened. Loved my seats tonight but always fun to figure out how they did the seating when someone who was in row 12, got put in row 12 again, but us in row 15 were put to the side stage. Anyone else have this happen? Curious to see if anyone beyond row 15 night 1 had their same seats night 2.
Again no complaints, just an observation really...greattt night
it could be there were so many family/friends in attendance that they had to make some room on the floor? ed said that probably only 40 people actually paid to be in the joint
the show was INCREDIBLE. not havingn evenflow or daughter or betterman just opened up space for other gems. and no way? that happened?? god it sounded so GOOD too!0 -

These shows were awesome. I want to thank Ed for pointing out the crazy beer dilema at the Key. Those security guys are crazy.
I was row 11 right on the center aisle seat. There is a red tape line defining the aisle border. In the middle of the show a security guy asked me to move my toes behind the line. My toes were 4 inches into the aisle space. I never once stood in the aisle, was politely rocking to the show, and they cared about my toes in the aisle.

Us as well. We went from the center of Row 15 to Section 127 Row 7. We LOVED these seats. I'll take em anytime.0 -
So happy to be there even though I am paying the price right now (it takes 6 hours to get home for me, we jetted down after work, and jetted home after the show).

Completely and absolutely false!! The crowd was GREAT last night!!! Trust me, you would have had the time of your life last night with the rest of the crowd!!! Nothing took anything away from the AMAZING last two nights. With last night's show being the sweet sweet icing on the Seattle cake. The crowd was singing and dancing, and hand waving, and fist pumping ALL NIGHT LONG!!! Trust me, the crowd was into it!! We're not 18 years old crowd surfing and moshing anymore, but were very much into the show!!!landingonwater wrote:Sucks some of you are saying the crowd sucked again. A crowd can make or break a performance. I'd take a mediocre setlist with an electric crowd over a setlist packed with rarities and a bunch of snoozing/uninterested fans. If you aren't into it, it really takes the energy out of the room, leaving more to be desired from the whole experience. I think crowds are half the fun at a concert. So people are saying "This song sucks," it really takes a bite out the whole experience.
That's my two cents.0 -
Thanks for coming home guys!!! Had a blast both nights.
Fun to see the long lost friends of PJ concerts past as well.Everybody made a movie....
Everybody had a one line.....
Everybody misses Andy....
We'll be seeing him in no time.... Oh Yeah.....

Don't know if someone mentioned what Ed said about that being the 50th show they played in Seattle. That was pretty cool. :-P"I'll ride the wave where it takes me.."0

Sorry if this has been repeated, but were there any cool shirts for sale, and do you remember the price? At outside lands, I remember being a little disappointed.0

Wow.... that was odd.
I had the same issue on night two. I was in the 8th row on the aisle on Stone's side. Some female security guard had nothing better to do but to watch my feet and if they crossed the line. Give me a break. Interestingly enough, there was a guy two rows up from me that stood on his line all night videoing and taking pictures and she never said a word to him. I asked her why and she said because he's "on the line"! OMG I just think she didn't like me because a) I'm a chick, and b) I was having fun. She came up the first time demanding my tickets. She seemed surprised I actually had them.0 -
anyone else experience problems with senority and their tickets last night? I was row 20 on the first night, but night 2 all the way over in s113 r10
The guy behind me thought something was up too and had surveyed some other 10c members. But the numbers and the seats he go.. they cut out a section of fan club tickets when they did the allocation and it looks like they got tagged on the end.
this bumped up alot of newer members closer then they'd usually be..
awesome show and setlist, but I was a little bummed about the tickets.0 -
Allocation for friends, family, neighbours, etc. My friend who was about 15th row found himself amongst a whole bunch of them, next to Mr and Mrs McCready senior.Zod wrote:anyone else experience problems with senority and their tickets last night?
