The Target in Beaumont, TX was clueless too... "We ain't got it yet" Gotta love a (B)/(M)illion dollar company's reputation hanging on a minimum-waged worker, most likely pissed at working Sunday AM... I pre-ordered the iTunes version, to try out the new 'LP' - good stuff w/two concerts available to DL.
I'll just buy the Rockband DLC direct from XBOXLIVE.0 -
How can you spell "would" as "wood" but know how to spell "recoup"? :shock:Ledbetterman10 wrote:wood?!?!

I’m hearing some bad things.
If I were PJ I’d want to hear about this.
My target(va beach) had no shirts. But I had expected that from the shirt list. Not every store would have them.
I was expecting some kind of banner or poster advertising ‘Pearl Jam at Target’. All I saw in the entire store was this sign about the size of a piece of paper with a pic of the cd cover out on September 20 over the new releases shelf. I mean that’s it, I was shocked! With the Prince release there was crap all over the place.
THEN the Backspacer was nowhere to be found. I got there late in the day but still it couldn’t have sold out that fast.
I thought gezz they didn’t order enough.
I wasn’t leaving until I spoke to a staff. (give me my PJ god damnit! Lol!)
The guy said he had to get it from the back. And he asked if that’s all I wanted. (I guess for Rock Band or whatever)
I told him there was none on the shelf. He relied with something. I forgot the word he used but I’ve never heard it before. Merchandise jarkin.
I got the album but damn that was weird.
And I saw plenty of the commercial on TV last night, then I go to actually buy the thing and there was notta.*~Pearl Jam will be blasted from speakers until morale improves~*0 -
wow that fucking blows. I walked into my HMV to see two huge Pearl Jam posters and than bought the album.
I bet PJ never uses Target ever again after this huge fuck up. That is fucking lame!"it feels like it's the end of the world and we all got a good seat. you know -- step right up, get your tickets...here we go."

College Point Target in Queens, NY had an end cap with Backspacer discs, but no vinyl singles - which they had a a few weeks back. No one had any clue about the t-shirts even though they are listed as a store to carry them. So, I went down to Brooklyn just for kicks and they didn't have a clue about the disc or shirt. I'm going back to College Point tomorrow to look again cause I forgot about the shirt when I was there, but then called them while in Brooklyn. Grrrr..0

to be completely honest...sunday is a rather odd day for an album release... im sure a lot of the staff thought this stuff didnt go out until tuesday...so they may have the shipment in the back...
most of the employees at my target location are between the ages of 14-23...so they really wouldnt know to put the stuff out two days earlier than normal...call it shitty management, or whatever you wanna call it...my store here in nj was ready to go at 8amit's largely due to eddie that i liked to jump off of things as a child...0 -

I work at a Target. I was all pumped to go in this morning and get the album before my shift. Then I get in and no album, no shirt (yes we are on the list). I was more than disappointed.
I looked into it and found out that we haven't yet received our shipment from the Distribution Center. When I heard that I figured that there had to be many more stores with the same problem. I think, like others, that the Sunday release had to have something to do with the tardiness.
I am keeping my fingers crossed that Backspacer s on tonight's truck. This is the first time in my life I haven't had a new PJ album on the day of release!I used to do drugs. I still do, but I used to, too.

Distribution Center - ahh, so maybe it's their fault.
i got mine. but had to ask staff. they went in the back to get it.*~Pearl Jam will be blasted from speakers until morale improves~*0 -

Yep, I bet that is common too. At our store, all the street dated stuff basically sits in the backroom until the day of release. With CDs that is always Tuesday, so they probably just didn't know to put it out. So if a store had it sitting in the backroom, that was probably the issue. But with others, could be that they just haven't received it yet. Either way, it sucks not having it. Good on you for checking with staff. I hated having to tell fellow fans that we didn't have it!I used to do drugs. I still do, but I used to, too.

i bet.
i woulda been sad and upset.
i would've liked to sit there all day to see if any big fans came by. just to see their reaction and see how they handled it.
i wasn't leaving until i asked staff.
i mean i saw nothing except for a piece of paper that said backspacer.*~Pearl Jam will be blasted from speakers until morale improves~*0 -
My Target had a wall of Cds and 2 Fixer singles. Hmmm. This situation reminds me of when Chinese Democracy was released last year. The supposed Most Anticipated Album Ever was barely visible for the first couple weeks upon release at its exclusive retailer Best Buy. I can see why Pearl Jam values independent record stores. To all you GN'R/Axl haters, I'm prepared for the flaming.0

it was just a dumb move to release it on a Sunday“May you live to be 100 and may the last voice you hear be mine.” - Frank Sinatra0
