You think if Pj is releasing a cd at Target then Target would have the CD. Alot of them have no clue. They dont have the Cd, record etc. I know their are other posts on this but doesnt target have mangers that check on this crap? Does Pj have management that checks to see if the targets are ready to go and have the merchandise? Kinda strange. Fuck Target. They should be ashamed. I think next cd gets released only at Burger King. You can listen to the new songs in the B.K lounge. You want fries with that......

Same here. Got up this morning, drove 25 minutes to the nearest Target, walked in....and nothing! The guy didn't have a clue about it. You would think with an "exclusive" that Target would be just a bit more prepared for it. I was a bit disappointed and drove to the next Target and got it there.

  • That sucks. The Target close to me had dozens of copies on display right by the cash register....but that's not the point. This Target deal is fucking stupid if there's people who can't simply go to the store and buy it on release day.

  • same thing at a target out here in denver....the cd was not out in the music section....i did later see it displayed as an end-cap at the cash registers

the staff had no idea about the shirt. they tried to tell me that they didn't get the shirt or cd. after some persistence, one staff member knew were they were and got the shirt for me.

    it is very soft :)

Target in Brooklyn at Erskine st. and the Belt Pkwy has plenty all over by the registers - you don't even have to walk to the music section. Enjoy.
  • I went to Target in Denver too...the one located on Colorado Blvd and Alameda (one of the more central Denver locations) ... and it was only displayed as an endcap by the cash register. I searched around the music section for about 10 minutes and was saying WTF to myself. Bought a couple of groceries and fotunately saw them by the cash register..weird to have absolutely zero in the actual music area

I went to this Colorado Blvd store as well. I just went to check out what they had for sale, maybe get a shirt. Should have my 10C order tomorrow. Yeah, couldn't find the CD in the Music Dept. Walked to the counter and these guys were folding the shirts. I said, "hey, you got an XL". They had one XL and only 4 shirts total left. They said they only received 20 shirts at that store. Are the shirts that limited? Man. And this was at like 11am. Glad I stopped by early in the day.

BTW, the CDs were only for sale at the checkout lane (26 I think). Crazy

The fact that Target is running ads, thereby benefiting from the Q-Rating they must know is there, makes this all the more incredible.

They use clips of a live performance of the first single, flash their own logo behind the band, spend X number of dollars on the commercial time, then can't even distribute a simple memo? How hard is it to inform store locations/managers that, on a certain day, the product is to be made available to the public?

Yes, I'm oversimplifying things. And no, I've never worked retail.

But honest to God - a company signs on to be the official distributor, then blow it?

I doubt Target ever pulls this crap when a new Hannah Montana P.O.S. comes out
  • I'm a retail manager and I can see how these things get screwed up, people in stores have no say over screw-ups from distribution and if the managers aren't passing notes about different events to the weekend staff, nobody knows what the hell is going on.

BUFFALO target on delaware had plenty of copies but not a damn person in that store knew about the shirts
