If anyone is looking for dinner suggestions beforehand, there are several good restaurants in the junction. The Elliott Bay Brewery http://www.elliottbaybrewing.com/ has consistently good food and great beer! It's not terribly pricey, either. Talaricos http://www.talaricoswest.com/ makes good pizza, and is also quite reasonably priced. The best in the area though, is the steakhouse Jaks http://www.jaksgrill.com/. While the service has been a bit spotty as of late, the steaks are ALWAYS good, and very well priced, considering you get a salad and a side included. I HIGHLY recommend the Jaks New York cut! Combine this with a fairly extensive wine list, and you've got a killer dinner! And for dessert - Bakery Nouveau http://www.bakerynouveau.com/welcome/ This is probably THE BEST bakery in Seattle. Seriously. They're open until 10pm on Saturday too!

Great suggestions. Also wanted to mention two places near Morgan Junction (about 20- 25 min walk S of Easy St on California. This is the Morgan / Fauntleroy / Cali junction).
The Feedback Lounge. This is a music lovers oasis. http://feedbacklounge.net/ Kiss fans will especially love this.
Beveridge Place Pub. http://www.beveridgeplacepub.com/ One side is a loungey / pub like place the other has pool / tvs etc. Dogs are welcome. They don't have a kitchen, but they do let you bring in / order in food from many of the local restaurants. They have a book of menus at the bar for you to order from.

Want a cheap hole in the wall? Be's Diner. Same block as Easy St on the north side. Isn't much to look at, and you might feel really young. I've only had breakfast there so i don't know how lunch & dinner are. It's not for the health conscious and they do have a menu posted outside.

Try Lee's for Chinese food. Across from Easy St and up the block.

For people taking the bus... The Water Taxi (boat) might be an option. I am not sure what the schedule is. It runs from downtown across Elliott Bay to Alki. They have a free (bus/van) shuttle that goes from Alki up to the Alaska Junction (where Easy St is). Alaska Junction is one of the main hubs in WS for busses.

What a great 8 days it's going to be. Saturday: cd release party at easy street, Sunday: listen to backspacer all day, monday: Seattle night 1, Tuesday: seattle night 2, Wednesday: recover from Tuesday night after party and listen to backspacer a few more times. Thursday: head to Vancouver. Friday: Vancouver pre-party, show, after party, Saturday: wake up early and drive to Portland for outside show. Sunday: wake, realize it's all over and depressed.

Stupid 560 bus from Seatac leaves from the airport at 21.09 when my flight is due to land at 2100, then not until 22.08, arriving at the Junction at 22:43...

Let the flight arrive ahead of schedule! Or if not, it probably means Gonna See My Friends will just start to blast as I locate the friends inside the store! Hope there's space to dump off the huge backpack!

That is... if you even HAVE a backpack this time! ;)

Maybe take the light rail downtown and a bus from there. quicker & easier?

Unfortunately the Link Light Rail does not yet reach the airport...

    Hi Hinn,

I just checked out the transit times and I don't think it would be any better if you tried to take a bus downtown then another back to W.Seattle. More of a pain for you and wouldn't get you there any sooner.

Is there anyone else that's getting to Seatac around the same time you are?? Anybody... Bueller... Anybody... It's about 40$ for a cab... but maybe if there was someone you could spit it with... ?

    Hey Bee Boy,
    LOOK FOR STIAN!
He's arriving at Seatac at around the same time, so I think he might be flying from London as well. You should ok if you arrive before 23:00
  • Okay Everyone... TOMORROW!!! :D

So... looks like the Alki Meetup is going to be just that... a meetup... not bbq/dinner/potluck! Greg is bringing firewood and he and David will both bring guitars. We'll supply some opaque cups for anyone needed to keep adult beverages (BYOB) on the DL. There is a convenience store as well as several restaurants right across from the beach (everything from Fish & Chips to Thai to Mexican...etc) for anyone who is looking for food/beer/etc (I'm pretty sure the convenience store sells beer/wine... but don't hold me to that!)

We'll say 'Hi' start a fire ... sing a few songs (if anyone knows any lyrics ;) ) and then plan to head up to Easy Street WSeattle store around 9. There will be at least 4 cars going up that we can pack full of peeps & I will sort out public transit from the beach to ES and have the information with me.

IF WEATHER DOES NOT PERMIT A BEACH MEETUP.... Gray/Cloudy is doable... but not RAIN!

    West 5

    West Five
    http://www.westfive.com

    4539 California Ave SW
    Seattle, WA 98116-4110
    (206) 935-1966

Will be our alternate meeting place before heading to Easy Street! It is just a few doors down California Ave (on the same side) as ES!!

If anyone needs Public Transit information to get to Alki Beach or Easy Street (West 5), go to:

    http://tripplanner.metrokc.gov/cgi-bin/ ... resptype=U

For Destination Easy Street W. Seattle enter : Alaska & California

For Destination Alki Beach enter : 61st Ave SW & Alki Ave.

Make sure to enter the correct start address : aka where ever you are :)
    Correct Date
Correct Entry for DEPART or ARRIVE (make sure am or pm is correct... I'm assuming pm!)
Take correct change : 1.75 or 2.00 during 'Peak times'
Ask for a Transfer (in case you need it later)

Safe travels to everyone!!! See You All SOON!!!

    "hey all:
in an attempt to kill the rumor that the band will be at the store tomorrow, i just want to let everyone know that they will NOT be here....i 100% promise & guarantee that they will NOT be here, so PLEASE pass along this message to everyone you know.

it is going to be crazy enough tomorrow & we really don't need extra people hanging around waiting for the band to show up, cause it just ain't gonna happen.

    thanks"

  • It looks beautiful out on Alki, so while I know most people are going to be drinking early at least Leana and I are going to head to Alki and start our evening with a jam there. No fires, just the beach and logs and the breaking sun!

We'll catch up with all of you before 8 or so!
