    There's no question I won't be listening to Backspacer before its release date. I'm almost mad about hearing "The Fixer" and "Got Some," not to mention that I know one or two additional song titles. You could literally send me a torrent and I'd erase it; there's something to be said for the anticipation of a new album release, even though I'm sure the band will "ruin" some of that in Calgary and Toronto. ;)

    I'm not complaining but I wish bands didn't release their first single weeks before the album. I'm not a fan of that business practice. Let's hear it all at once, yeh? But then again, the music industry was all about singles in the early stages of popular music.

    I agree with you...I don't want to hear pieces...I would rather wait until the whole album comes out.

    it wasn't a phone call... it was through a friend's facebook status that i learned of the leak :D

    I won't avoid any official releases but I had the opportunity to download the album today and was overwhelmed by guilt. I don't know what it is but I want to hear the album the "right" way. Am I the crazy one? I purchased the iTunes and PJ pre sales so I guess I should just wait. I guess the wait is half the fun? My humble opinion: I think everyone should wait.

    Have patience. What you should do is let me hold on to those links for you and I will keep them safe and out of your mind. Be a strong PJ fan with integrity. ;)

    I'm waiting, but all the chatter from those who have listened already has made me SO STOKED to hear it. I know I don't get brownie points for abstaining from leaks, but I just love the old-school anticipation of enjoying the entire package all at once...

    And for anyone who needs a little somethin'-somethin' to get them through until Backspacer comes, I'd recommend aolradio.com's All Pearl Jam channel. Lots of good stuff on there. They just played Sonic Reducer from New Orleans '00 - it's definitely scratching the itch.

    I'm climbing the walls at this point---having only heard The Fixer and Got Some on Conan. After the album arrives, I'll have a little beer or wine and the first spin is always with headphones. It's tough waiting---for sure---but I'm glad I still haven't heard it yet.
