Its sad that you dont have an insurance (to get money from) if you lose the job in the US. Here in sweden we get 80% of the salary if we lose the job. I think that in Norway they get more than that.

    No they don't.

Looking through these again most of the Eddie sigs look fake, probably bought on ebay. The rest of the bands are legit.

Its sad that people have no idea about the USA. Of course we get insurance. As long as you are actively searching for a job, you get unemployment insurance benefits. I was laid off 2 weeks ago and I am at 70% pay and can get a part time job to make up the rest.

And to think you were ripping into the socialism of the welfare state a couple of weeks ago on here...
Sorry to hear you got laid off, life hurts sometimes. I hope you find something soon that was better than you had before. Peace. T
we're all going to the same place...

I didnt say it was a good thing. I said its sad that the rest of the world doesnt know anything about the USA.

Its a horrible thing! It is giving me incentive to take my sweet ass time finding a job. A claim that lasts a month or two is understandable, but the fact that it lasts a year is ridiculous, and it can be renewed after the year is up. Thats my problem with socialist programs, it spawns freeloaders. But Im not high and mighty, if I pay the taxes for socialism you're damn right Im going to take advantage of the benefits, but thats the whole problem.

Thats the laziest ebay auction I ever saw.

    is it worth 30k?

quite simply no, although to give the seller credit I think he acknowleges he doesnt expect that price.

There is just not a great deal there that is collectible. I think the majority of the sigs look legit, so if your an auto collector thats a great buy at a sensible price, but 30k is way way way off the mark.

The framing doesnt look exactly prestige stuff, it looks bog standard, the bridges box looks shafted (although great item), and 85% of the posters are readily available, and who wants pictures signed 'to dom'....

    odd

Ok Paul, maybe you're right! But i didn't mention the price in my original post. I only wanted to say that it is sad if someone has to sell his collection (for me it is impressive!) because of loosing a job. I am sure that it took many years to obtain a collection like this..or on the other hand money, money, money. :)

Hmmmm a bit of a sweeping statement.

does it not occur to you you may have been speaking to the wrong people on your travels?

I think Australia is a well respected nation, mostly in the Uk due to your stance of immigration, and having a pretty solid leader.

You guys also seem to have a good grip of environmental issues across the board.

Sadly you inflicted neighbours on us in the Uk, something I understand not even you guys watch, so we can never forgive you for that

Oh yes i wasnt disregarding your thread in any way.....I posted this in the other thread too...

they were just my thoughts on the auction. Its really lazy as the result would undoubtedly be better if he listed all items seperately, or at l;east included a list of what hes selling. Its a good one to watch though for sure.

I think he must be close to the band to have things signed to him.....or at least met them a number of times

yeah we our well respected but no one takes us seriousy. it sadens me. ive been to the states heaps of times and i like it, but as soon as ya start talking about australia no one seems to understand anything. i lived in san fran for 3 months and i found it not much different than home - but the major thing i noticed is that your tv and news is very highly usa central - very narrowed on usa - like that its so imporant that not much else matters - and i found that to be sad cause i also noticed that ppl over there (well most of them) are very smart and seem interested in stuff but dont know a whole lot of stuff off shore ...

and the food!!!!! fark .... huge portions :):)
